About College

College management is fine. It has the potential to be more better.

For our batch we faced many problems due to the new University, KTU a.k.a A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University. It was mainly because as it was a new University, new system and all. Although we faced many problems due to sudden changes in system we had many problems and it was very difficult. But now the situation has changed and University almost in a stable condition. Faculties and students will have references of past students. Actually Electrical engineering course is very good and scope is also there. But it all depends on individual. Studying and getting good marks is not so important when it comes to getting jobs and what to do after BTech. So enjoy college life maximum, find the type of subject you are interested in.

In my opinion I would say Placement cell is very active in terms of preparing students for interviews and placements. Also many companies visited and many got placed. But almost all the companies were IT or Electronics based companies. So many students from other branches also will get chance to get in any IT company. I would say Placement cell provided a key role in moulding students to get in any company. The placement cell also got limitations in finding good company. Many students in my batch got placed in good companies like infosys, wipro, tcs etc. In electrical core companies were less. But after course many got job in core field. The placement cell played major role in training. Placements from colleges are not the end, other than provided by college also you can try and get into desired job.

Events celebrated are sports, arts( intra college) and fest ( inter college ). The College main event is the fest which is titled Swastika, conducted every year by the senior batch. In this all participation is from other colleges and its conducted for two days. More than 700 participants comes from different colleges to participate every year. Arts in intra college participation. Personally speaking this is the time when you can enjoy the most.

Fee structure is very feasible. There are no donations at all, in fact there are some schemes and scholarship were there was no need to pay tution fee at all. The college is very transparent to the fee breakdown, also the management is very helpful.

College provided scolorships and other than that keam entrance if qualified we can get seat. If you get high scores and ranks then also you can get in merit seat.

Campus Life in this college is in a different level. You can enjoy maximum in this college. Visit different places nearby with friends. If you are in hostel it is again a good experience and will be able to make good friends in life. Extracurricular activities, sports and workshops are here. professional society like IEEE and IEI and IEDC student brach is also here.

I opted for hostel and because my native was in Wayanad. But here almost 80% of the students were residing in hostel. I think this is most in any colleges. The hostel near the college premises. In a room it is 2-3 people. The food is very good and okay. The rent was 37k I think and for food monthly 3k. Now it might be different.

Alumini networks are also very good and helpful. There is alumini network for every branch and they conduct meetings every year.

I got admission thourough management quota. The college provides upto full scholarship based on a scholarship exam that they conduct every year. Scholarship are given based on that exam rank. Other ways to get seat are thourough merit based on KEAM. I took Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). Factors that made me choose this institution were because it was a well known and respected college. Also the fee structure is feasible compared to other colleges and good management. Also this college is situated in kuttikanam, Idukki, the climate here is very good and there are many tourist places to visit in Idukki.

In Electrical most of the faculties were very good but also sometimes very strict at times. It might not be the same for other courses, it was due to the nature of the course. There are very good teachers who use powerpoint presentation and other notes prepared by them to simplify the subject. The teachers are also very experienced and skilled, also the labs are there, lab assistants over here are also very good.
