Four years in silicon

College management tries too hard to maintain it's reputation such that it oftentimes forget what is best for the students. They provide good facilities for the students. But they are very rigid about their rules which are old and of no use.

Silicon comes under bput and follows it's syllabus structure. Bt now it has been granted autonomous status. It has restructured it's syllabus. Now the syllabus is more updated rather than being the same old outdated syllabus bout used to provide. The exam is still more theory orientated than practical. There is very little scope for research here. You have to be really determined to be able to do any research here

Silicon has affliction with many MNCs. Infosys and Wipro are the day 1 companies of silicon. Various other companies like FSS, aceso cloud, value labs, mindtree, gyansys etc also conduct their placement drive here. You can also avail for internships in the above mentioned companies. But the highest package offered by these companies is low. The highest package is offered by Infosys and it is only 8LPA.

Our college observes various cultural events like zygon, cultural night, rythmnova etc. We have a tech fest noesis once a year. Our college also hosts a inter college sports event called silicon cup. It involves competition in volleyball, basketball, soccer, cricket and athletics. Our college also hosts inter branch sports competitions.

For BTECH the yearly fee is 175000.The tuition fee for 1 year is 75000 and the hostel and other fees is 100000. IYou have to pay for canteen bill monthly. It is not included in the yearly fee. It is mandatory to opt for canteen food if you stay in hostel.

You can avail for medha bruti. Or if you are from SC/St cast then you can also opt for prerana. For medha bruti students get around 10000 per year. For prerana students get around 75000 per year. You can also opt for TFW by government if you belong to low income group. College also provides small financial aid for scholar students.

There gender ratio is approximately 60 boys to 40 girls. Students from all states around the country come to study here. There is no place for racism or castism here. There are various clubs operating successfully to manage extra curricular activities. Any interested student can join any club without any hassels.

Hostel is available inside the campus. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. In every room 3 boarders are accommodated. The hostels have shared bathouroom and toilet. No private bathouroom is available. The bathourooms and the floors are cleaned on a daily basis. But the students have to clean their own room. There are separate veg and non veg canteens. Students can opt for any of the canteens on day of week. But they can only update their canteen at the end of month for next month. The average monthly cost of canteen is 3000

Silicon has a vast alumni group. Every year there is a alumni meet. But there is absolutely no interaction between the alumni and the current students. Only the immediate senior students have contact with the students. There is little to no ragging inside the campus. The relationship between senior and juniors is healthy and prosperous.

I got good enough rank to get into silicon in case branch. The admission process is very simple. You have to go thourough the counseling process by state government and if you get selected at silicon, your admission will be done. Faculties at silicon have good enough knowledge in theroy. But they lack significantly in practical knowledge. The gap between institute and industry is clearly visible here. You won't get any practical advice from any faculty except a few. Faculties are more concerned with taking test and finishing syllabus
