My college experience

Till now few industrial visits have been organized but we are told there will be more as the knowledge is deepened in further semesters.

We have mid-semester and final semester exams. The GPA is calculated relatively. The curriculum is very well-groomed to provide industry as well as theoretical knowledge to students. These things definitely help in campus placements. We are taught using presentations and are given online assignments that are to be completed.

Our college has a placement record making it in the top 25 colleges in India according to NIRF ranking. Last year the highest package was around 41 lacs that's a great package in comparison to private colleges also it depends on how much ability the student has.

There are many events that happen in our college. These are mostly organized by many clubs in the college there are annual fests that are held and they are so much fun to attend last year Zakir Khan was here. Also, small events are also organized many times in between months by clubs.

My program fees for 4 years is 20 lacs approx. But in today's date, all the private colleges have this much fees so there is no reason to argue on this. There are no additional fees that have to be paid except during the first time you have to pay some security deposits and some more things.

During the time of admission, SBI has a bench where all the loan details are provided and can be availed during the payment of fees. There is no problem with getting an education loan. For scholarships, you have to write a letter to the director and meet the HOD of your department. There is no such issue as sich unless the problem arises from your side.

The gender ratio is almost equal and students are from all parts of India. There is nothing like gender disparity or other discrimination. Students treat each other with respect and do not consider anyone as who can be discriminated against on the basis of their cast, religion gender color, etc.

Yes, I have opted for a hostel. It depends during allocation which hostel you get the hostels are overall good but the newly built are the best ones in which you get all the modern facilities but the older ones are not so good.

Thapar has a very strong alumni network and we have a platform known as thaparalma connect on which we connect with alumni and can even contact them if required.

I opted for this because this college has a great reputation and has a placement record. I got admission through my JEE Mains. Nowadays they have started taking students who are state toppers in board exams. they get direct admission and also students from northeast States and jandk get a scholarship.

The faculty is very knowledgeable, helping and very supportive. Like usual colleges, our faculty guides students and also acts as a mentor for a student. Most of the faculty here have done Ph.D. or masters.
