Remarks

It is a state government university and conducts its own entrance exam called HPCET examination. HPTU is ranked 398 by NIRF among indian universities. It is approved by AICTE. The college has a lush green campus.

B.tech. in electrical, electrical and electronics, mechanical, electronics and communication, CSE, civil, automobile, IT, textile engineering, M.tech. in civil, CSE, mechanical, ECE, B.arch., BCA, MCA, MBA are also available.

Placement Experience

The placements statistics are average. Good companies visit the campus for recruitment. Job opportunities are in the field of science and technology. No internships are provided by any company. If you are not getting admission in any good NIT then you can look forward to take admission in this college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

B.tech. fee is about 60000 per annum course duration is of 4 years. M.tech. fee is about 70000 per annum course duration is of 2 years.B.arch fee is about 65000 per annum course duration is of 4 years.

Various days like sports day, yoga day, teacher's day are celebrated every year. Events, debates, quizzes are frequently held from time to time. The college actively participates in inter college sports tournaments.

Admission

I had given HPCET examination and got admission in this college through counsellimg process. The admission process is smooth. One has to show all the intermediate certificates and marksheet to complete the admission process.

The faculty members are cooperative and helpful. Most of them are from himachal pradesh. Counsellings and doubt sessions are held by them from time to time. They also help the students to prepare for placements.

Placement Experience:

Chandigarh-based companies or the startups, and training institutes come here. Companies like Meander Software, Bebo Technologies, Novem Control, BookingKoala - Sales Hungary, etc. companies come. Average package is 3.8 LPA, and 50% students are getting placed. My plans after getting the degree is working in an IT company.

Highest is the PPO of 93 lakhs and placement of 60 lakhs. around 93% are placed who registers for placements Average CTC is around in between 18 to 22 lakhs

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

Environment of my college

Remarks:

There are mostly good remarks for college like the environment in kangra Himachal Pradesh is best in the area. There are dhauladar hill ranges infront for college and fress air of hilly areas are good for students.

Great Learning, Friendly Campus, and Bright Future

I applied to AKTU, IPU, and a few private colleges. I got selected in 2, but picked this college as it has low fees, good teachers, and fair job offers. Seniors also gave good reviews about the labs and coding help. Yes, I could not get a seat in IPU due to low rank. I was close but missed the cutoff for CS. My JEE score was not high enough. I did not apply under spot round as I had already joined this college. Admission is based on JEE Main or state test like HPCET. Cutoffs differ for each branch. You need to pass 12th with PCM.
