Review of IIT Kharagpur

My college is the best. Infrastructure is best. All facilities are provided by college. The Alumni network is so big and strong. The Cultural inside the campus is great. I am proud to be a part of such wonderful family.

The curriculum here was the best in India. Being a top engineering college in India, it has well updated course and academics. We have mid-semester as well as end-semester exams. Also class test was held occasionally by the professors. Frequent evaluation is also done by profeesors and teaching assistants. Research focused teaching is also done here. Some labs are very chilled and some labs are quite hectic if don't pay attention to the instructor.

Up to 100% of placements is there in IIT. All students are placed and get job before leaving the institute. The highest package on 1.5 crores and the average being 16 lpa. College also provides internships. Many students do their internships from top brands like Google. The stipend is much good. Around 280 companies came for placement this year and around 1500 offers are being offered.

Many events are organized in college. Kshitij is Asia's largest techno-management fest held at IIT Kharagpur. Around 6000 outside students take part in it. The cultural fest organized here is Spring Fest. Spring Fest is so big that around 20000 outside students also join it. Many international and national artists came here to entertain us. Global Entrepreneurship Summit is also organized here.

Feasible fee structure. Mine fee is around 290000 per annum out of which 200000 is the tuition fee. The fee is totally dependent on family income. If family income is low, then the fee is also low. Students having family incomes less than 100000 will have 0 tuition fees.

Inspire scholarship for MS students. They will get a stipend. There are many scholarships offered by institutes. Students can opt for an educational loan if he needs from State Bank of India, etc. You have to apply to avail it. Many scholarships have criteria of caste, family income, etc.

For 1st and 2nd, extracurricular activities is compulsory for each student like NSO, NSS, and NCC. In NSO, there are many sports like Swimming, cricket, volleyball, football, tennis, basketball, table tennis, yoga, etc. They are so good. The gender ratio in IIT is 1:5, which is very less. Many student parties are done here. There are many societies like dance society, acting society, entrepreneurship cell, etc. There is no diversity in campus.

Hostels are provided by Institute. In campus, hostels are named as halls. There are 22 halls in campus-like RP, RK, LBS, SNIG, MT, NEhrU, PATEL, AZAD, MMM, etc. In 1st and 2nd triple sharing room is allotted.

The Alumni network is so strong. As IIT Kharagpur is founded in 1951, ultimately it has large no of alumni. Also, it is top institute in India, so they are in a top position now. The best example is Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, is alumni of IIT Kharagpur. They are so helpful, their thoughts and guidance help us a lot.

I got admission into my college through the EAMCET exam.I chose this college because of the advertisement I saw in television and also due to the state ranking of the college I know that the ranking of college is low but it is ok.

In my college, faculties are quite educated but there is a lack of synchronization between the teaching and the running market.i would rather say it's not an issue of faculties.They are just following the curriculum decided by the college. In an information technology World, things changes rapidly, you need to brush up your skillset every week in order to be in this competitive world. But what happened is faculties were focusing on the outdated technologies. They should teach newer technologies to the students so that they can cope up with this worldp in a competitive manner.
