Overall a good college but very difficult for students of open category to get in as rank cut off is very high. As the institute is 130 years old infrastructure is quite outdated and also poor in most departments. However civil department is infrastructurally very good because of contributions from our alumnis.

The course and curriculum are revised till now 4 times. The institute is autonomous so it enjoys setting of its own curriculum and syllabus. The exam structure includes two exams one Mid semester test and second End Semester test.

Vjti is in the heart of Mumbai. It enjoys participation of big compamies for placements. L&T, Tata, HCC, HDIL are few companies which visit every year for core branches. Apart from these Samsung, Goldman Sachs, Apple, Microsoft also come in for Comps and IT dept. Internships are provided in the 3 year of your course through college interviews and screening test.

Technovanza is the technical fest of VJTI college with about 50, 000 people coming from all over the Maharashtra. 150+ colleges participate in this event. Technovanza is the only technical event next to IITs Techfest in Mumbai. Pratibimb is annual Cultural fest with 10, 000 peoples and 59+ colleges participating. Enthusia is annual sports festival. SNC is a management fest by Ecell committee.

Fee is 84304 for open category students. This may vary according to the category of the student. Basic structure follows 15000- Tution fees. 45000- Development fees only applicable to open students. Other fees like Gymkhana, Library etc.

Good scholarship are available for almost all category students. Loans are also available. Earn and learn schemes are available around the year. I was eligible for scholarship of 15, 000 as I was a Muslim minority student.

My college do has some interesting labs including VR/AR lab, IOS lab, sophos lab for security purpose and common computer labs with inbuilt windows 10. My college does provides good internet facilities in all labs through ethernet cables. Almost all the sports utilities are available with huge ground.

Hostels are very neat and clean in my college. There are very good facilities, good staff and good rooms and places. Infrastructure is also very good. 24 hrs water available here. Never get troubles about hostels.

VJTI has strong alumni network. Alumni include notable Enggs in numerous organisation like DRDO, ISRO NASA etc. No ragging is allowed among students. All seniors all very helpful. In fact freshers and seniors form a family like bond between different clubs and branches.

I had rank of 4200 or something which made me eligible to take admission in college for computer engineering. Students under 5000 rank can take admission in computer engineering in my college. One can also get admission through NRI quota by paying more.

Excellent faculty withover 30+ years of experience. All senior faculty are good. Only new contract based faculty are not upto the mark of VJTI. Associate/assistant profeesors must have a PHd degree. Most of the teachers are interested in taking lectures and make you understand a concept.
