Heritage in a nutshell

The college managment should be more strict with people who cause disturbances in the campus.

The syllabus was based on the guidelines issued by AICTE. The circullum taught was relevant for both industries as well as competitive exams such as GATE. We also had regular in industrial visits each semester starting from 2nd year. We also had seminars where we researched and gave a presentation on a topic.

The placement of the college is above average. The placement cell tries to bring as many companies as they can so that atleast 75% of the students are placed if not 100.

There are multiple events hosted by the college in a year. The two main events are Daksh and Eclecia. Daksh is the technical fest whereas Eclecia is the cultural fest. Apart from that various events are also hosted by the different clubs of the college such a Heritage Quiz Festival, Film Festival, Parliamentary Debate, etc.

The fee structure is feasible not exorbitant. One can pay the fees online via credit card, debit card, net banking or offline at the campus bank. The college provides a breakdown of the fee in the fee book. While getting admitted to the college one also had to pay a caution money of Rs. 10000.

The college provides scholarship opportunities to those who have an annual family income of less than 250000.

The extracurricular activities in the college are pretty strong. There are a wide array of clubs catering to varying interests such as quiz, debate, dance, photography, coding, literature, gaming, drama, etc. The student gender ratio is almost 1:1 in the college. There is no discrimination on the basis of gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics inside the campus.

The alumni network is quite large. Most of the alumni are quite helpful and guides their juniors when they are in dilemma.

I wanted to study mechanical engineering and hence chose the subject. I got admitted through my WBJEE exam rank. First I had to complete the counseling procedure at the state education department, then I had to report to the college to complete the process.

There are around thirty five faculty members in the mechanical department with an average age of 40. The faculty members are quite well qualified with most of them holding PhD degrees. Some of the faculty members also have industrial experience. Most of the faculty members are well versed in the subjects they teach.
