Course Curriculum Overview
The Government Engineering College Thrissur is an engineering college situated in Thrissur city of Kerala, India. It is the second oldest engineering college established in Kerala and the first engineering college to be established after the formation of Kerala state. The college is affiliated to the University of Calicut.
Internships Opportunities
Besides the regular B-Tech courses, college also offers a postgraduate Course in Computer Applications (MCA), and postgraduate programmes in other subjects. Courses offered by college have been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation.
Placement Experience
The placement cell of GEC thrissur organizes and conducts placement drives in GEC for all branches. The placement cell also provides assistance to students in the form of training, and any other related aspects.
College Events
Dyuthi -Inter-Collegiate National Level Multifest, The college conducts a yearly techno-managerial fest named "Dyuthi", and invites participants from Indian engineering colleges.

Education loan is available andpoor students also get scholorship such as kpcr. Government Engineering College Trichur (GECT) has been organizing its biennial International Conference on the title theme ムMaterials for the Futureメ (ICMF) since the year 2009.
Campus Life
At GECT are committed to provide quality technical education to improve the knowledge of the students. This is achieved through faculty upgradation, giving placement assistance, providing opportunities for extra curricular development and updates the students with latest technical developments in the related fields.
Hostel Facilities
The college has four Hostel Blocks for Men and two Hostel Blocks for women students with capacity 690 and 160 respectively. These hostels have separate establishments and are headed by the warden assisted by Resident Tutors. They are the admitting authority. Prof. T.M. Sudersanan is the warden. Messes are run on dividing system and there is provision for vegetarian and non- vegetarian messes.

Faculty
Prof.S. Rajaraman, a civil engineer of international repute and author of many engineering books was the first Principal. He along with Prof. M.P. Mathew and Prof. V.S. Nair (the then Head of the Departments of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering respectively) formed the triumvirate that established the growth of the college.
