My Experience of graduation in Civil Engineering from MIT Pune

I personally feel studying in this college is really prestigious one. Only few things don't go well like currently they increased fee amount so much. So it must be really hard for the middle class students. So instead of opting for this college now they are looking for alternative colleges. Once you enter this college you will come as the more matured and broad minded person which is really important with Academics.

Teaching professional are really good and experienced. Although practical experience for the students were not that good. But College is trying to improve their curriculum by adding more practical knowledge by conducting various site visits. Now they provide one international tour also. It is part of curriculum so students have good exposure than the previous years.

College placement is the perk of this college. Every year many students get placed with really great packages. At the end of the last semester every IT & Computer students have more than one offers. But core companies like Mechanical & Civil face trouble in placement because of recession. College allows civil students to try to IT companies also. If they are selected they can join IT companies. Like myself I am civil engineer but I got placement in IT company. College promotes internship also but not on great scale

There are Various cultural events and technical events held by the college.Like Cultural gathering in January, Summit Sports event in January, Nirmitee which is technical event, Abhivyakti which is non technical event, Robocon is for techies also every department conducts their own events too.

It is very expensive now since it turned itself into University. Previously it was 1Lakh per annum. But now for every student it is 2.5 Lakh per annum which is really expensive for normal students. They are trying to improve various facilities with this fees. One of the example is One international tour per year.

I got concession in the college fees because i comes under the non creamy layer zone. We had less income so we had concession for about 50 percent in the college fees. While college fees were above 1 lakh. I only needed to pay 56,000 Rs

Campus life was really happening one. There were always some events in the college so we all were busy in those events. People from all parts of India comes to study in this college so it's really nice learning for everyone. Our college was really famous about Robocon event. It won second price in the Robocon competition. There were entrance for the Robocon team but I could not qualify because they were mostly looking for students from IT field. Labs were neatly kept. Sports event of MIT college is still famous as many teams from all over Maharashtra comes to MIT.

I didn't opt for the hostel. But i know about it well. Girl's hostel is inside campus. But the boy's hostel is one kilometre from the college campus which is really not good thing. They need to walk to the college and for dinner two times. Also that boy's hostel is not very big. It is only for first year students.

Alumni network is really in touch with the Alumni of college. They often keep sending mails to the students regarding various updates. Sometimes they call alumni to guide the students too. We have seperate whatsapp group of Alumni who help the needy persons to get job in our field. It is really helpful for everyone.

I got good marks in Common Entrance Exam conducted after 12th standard. Right now college have changed the system and they conduct their own exam for admission. College doesn't come under University now. Now it is a university so students have to opt for college exam as well as University exam.

Faculty of the college are Post graduate and Phd. They have really nice experience in their respective field. Personal interaction is less which they should improve. Quality of the teaching is really upto the mark. But they should promote the practical knowledge for students.
