Remarks

Good - many things to say, can't find words. Bad - The infrastructure

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Being affiliated with BPUT, the whole course is almost similar to that studied in NIT and IIT. Usually they have mid terms called internal exam and sem-end examination. Every year will be different in study curriculum according to your discipline. As to research, the Institution provides every equipment in its lab and in further semester you can research your own subjects to make projects, and to guide you, you can choose any faculties of your choice.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement is one of the greatest thing that this college provides. Infosys, Wipro, Mindtree, Capegemini, Cognizant and all the top companies that IT sector has, have recruitment drive in Silicon. For recruitment, students need to pass the written test, followed by interviews, technical and personality. The overall performance percentage that is required is 60-70%, depending on the company needs. To help you secure the job, the college from with Pre Placement Training and many other activities that can help any student understand the way recruitment works. The college makes sure that every student is given enough attention so that they will be able to succeed and be on the list.

College Events

5

Every year, you will have event that are fun and good release from the studies. There are talent hunts for every student who is good at something. There are fest like technical fest and cultural fest. And there is also Silicon Cup, which is great sporting event, consisting of inter college competition in every sports. Every college in Odisha do come and have great competition in each events presented above.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My fee for overall first year was 1.35 Lakhs, with hostel. If you don't want accomodation, it would cost less. This continued to the last year. In addition, you have to pay monthly for your mess bill. Other than these, nothing extra is asked for. The fees now maybe different, but every discipline has the same fees structure as the other.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know about this. I didn't take any loan. But by the talks from my friends, its as easy as giving the fees.

Campus Life

3

Gender ratio is usually equal. With special quotas for woman, every class has equal number of boys and girls. There are two hostel, boys and girls, inside the campus. In terms of extra curricular activities, you had Table tennis room, volleyball and basketball court, cricket field, dance club, robotics club, music club, gym etc. The college prefers state students, but also can take other state students too. We had 6:4 ratio of same state an other state students. There are strict regulations around ragging, and if found, can take serious action. The college is self financed.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, I did. The first year hostel was good in terms of cleanliness and space. Three students in one room, with their own closets. The charge for hostel is added in your fees. The bathrooms is common. Every room has a small balcony attached to it.

Alumni/Alumna

Most of the seniors I had were great in case of studies, or nature wise, or being supportive in helping us with the activities. The seniors were the ones who helped us understand the college life and how to deal with the new life that we started. They were somewhat like big brothers who helped in every case.

Admission

I scored a good rank in OJEE. After some days, we were allowed to give preferences to the colleges which we can study in. I had heard about the Institution much before from my seniors. Putting the first preference to the college, I did get it. And after that, all you have to do is wait for the college to get the dates for admissions. Admission was easy, systematically doing everything and with the required documents that they asked, and fees, I was given the day I had to join and start my schooling.

Faculty

4.5

There are many faculties for each discipline in the college. In Computer Science, the branch of study I took, was supported by 30-35 faculties, with an average age around 40s. Most of them are IIT aluminis and Post Graduate, as well as PhD holders. To this day, I thank my faculties for helping me write codes efficiently and in clean manner.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
