Remarks

Overall it's good. Reachable. Staff is nice. Academics are good. Students have a nice environment.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curricular is good but not market driven, and not research driven. The course is just theoritical based. A lot of assignments, lot of internals, lot of practicals. There are more papers, but the practical knowledge given its very low. There must be some more in practical side

Placement Experience

2

Placements are normal. Not too great. College still needs to make some contacts in good companies. It has some contacts in small companies and low and mid level posts. So, the placement quality should be improves

College Events

3.5

Fest- every year, had many events. All events are there in the fest. Apart from that there are more festivals in the college. Celebrations are good and relax the students. But need more interactions. Need more effort. And need more enthusiasm. Fest is nicer.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible. But not that much. University of Jammu, creates the fee structure for the college's, ie the tuition fee. But the college takes extra fee, and even internet charges are included, but not given. So, a little concession or features given will be great.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, I have opted for a government given scholarship, giving me around 10000 per year. It was on the basis of 12th merit.

Campus Life

2.5

Gender ratio- Girls are little less. Labs- labs are good Extracurricular - Have the hardware but students don't get time for that. Sports- moderate Competitions- Good, as they are often being held, not advanced ones are little less than normal one.

Hostel Facilities

3

No. I was living in my home. Since I was close to college, I didn't needed a hostel. But College has Hostel services at a different location some kilometres away from the college. I didn't opt for their hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

That network is not so strong. Need more interactions, need more knowledge sharing sessions. And need some recognition of aluminis.

Admission

Through JKCET. Fist there is an entrance, Then after qualifying, there is selection and the college is allotted to a student. Then the student has to go to college for further admission process. Pay the fee. And finally admission in the college via JK BOPEE.

Faculty

3.5

Normally there are 15 lectures per subject per semester. Lectures are normally theory based, and book driven but practical knowledge needs field work and not class work. Some industry driven knowledge should be given to students for their future and development

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
