Remarks

Government engineering College Thrissur is a old engineering College built from the 50's. There is a lot of good stuff going through college like there is always is a positive vibe. I think there is no bad thing about my college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

GEC Thrissur is making a good effort to provide industry specific knowledge to students but I think they haven't succeed yet. there was no industrial vist for my batch The classes must have some more quality and the study techniques has to be modified.

Placement Experience

4.5

I'm a first year student I don't know well about placement and companies visited. But the college does its better for placements.

College Events

4

Dyuthi is a main event in government engineering College Thrissur it is a technical and cultural program that is held year by year and so many people come to participate in dyuthi. Thrissur motor show is a 4 day program conducted by mechanical department of college. Concerto is a technical and cultural program conducted by civil department and so on.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I don't know well about that but it must be above 5000+. The payments are done by both online and offline methods. since it is a government engineering College they do not ask us for additional fee. And the colleges does provide transperency in the fee break down

Fees and Financial Aid

I got an scholarship from my college it was e-grantz and the criteria is being in OBC category. e-grantz usually coverups our exams fee etc sonwe don't get hand on money.

Campus Life

4

I'm a student in mechanical engineering so in my class there is only five girls and the rest is boys but in other departments I don't think they have this huge difference in number of students. GECT is well known for student parties, actually they are helpfull for us they fight for us they rise their voice for us and so on. Our college has been conducting workshops also there are many cultural societies or clubs and they are doing well. For my best knowledge I haven't seen any problems regarding gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status although they happen sometimes and we solve it with peace. My college is a place where we live like a family.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I have opted hostel because I live far from college. I didn't get the chance to be in college men's hostel so I chose private hostel. The hostel rooms are nice clean and almost good enough. Usually three or more person's live in a room according to the facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni and senior students are helping juniors and college a lot. Most of time if there is a crisis alumni helps us by donations and support.

Admission

I opt mechanical engineering because I like those stuffs. I got admission by Kerala entrance examination in 2019. I chose GEC Thrissur because it is not far from my house when compared to other colleges and GECT has a good history in past. The admission procedure was so easy because senior students were there to help us.

Faculty

4.5

The teachers are doing well and giving good lectures but they have to be more good on this. The classes must have some more quality and the study techniques has to be modified also the teachers must opt new teaching options than they do what today also that must be an outcome based teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance. The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies. The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.
