Remarks

I couldn't have thought of any better college life experience, so there is obviously no bad or negative remarks for my college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

My college is AICTE affiliated and is under the direct control of MAKAUT or WBUT. So the syllabus offered by our college was actually decided by the central board of MAKAUT. The syllabus was indeed very relevant and the practical sessions were research driven. In other words the curriculum was groomed well enough to provide industry specific knowledge to the students. The only thing I could tell as a critisism is that the structure if the entire curriculum or the syllabus which includes the various trade related subjects could start a bit early instead of starting it from 3rd or 4th semester. Moreover the college has also organized few industrial training and vocational vists to various industries during the later half of our curriculum.

Placement Experience

4.5

Almost every IT company visit our college for recruitment, which includes TCS, IBM, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Deloitte, Intel, Pwc etc. Most of these companies ask for a minimum of 60% marks in the entire ciriculam but few companies also make an exception of 75% overall. Before our interview we were groomed in several sessions to use our softskills in a better way to crack the interview.

College Events

5

There are two fests which occurs annually in our college. I was luck enough to be a part of the technical fest team of our college named as Geekonix and the fest was known as EDGE. Student from other colleges as well as my college took part in the fest and it continued for a week during the month of April. The other fest or the cultural fest was known as Anakronos was organised in the month of May. Various artist, students from other colleges and my own college took part in various cultural events and on the final night a celebrity guest artist used to come and perform live.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is reasonable. Also there is the provision for TFW or tution fee waiver scheme for students coming from economically low families. The college always provided breakups of our semester fees as and when asked for. The total program fee was around 3. 2 lakhs which is around forty thousand per semester. However for the TWF canidates it was around one thousand rupees per semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't opt for any loan. There was no scholarship offered by the college. Few of my friends took education loan with 12 percent interest rate.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life was one of the best in my college in the entire city. It felt like a family a group of energetic and enthusiastic fellows who used to work and play together. The gender ratio was equal in our college. Various workshops on techincal as well as cultural subjects used to take place inside my college campus. Members of both the technical as well as cultural fest teams used to organise these workshops throughout the year. There was also a notable Anti Raging Committee which was formed to prevent and check the harrasing and bullying of the fresher students in the college.

Hostel Facilities

3

No, there are no hostel facilities provided by our college. Students coming from outside used to stay in various PGs or mess or rented apartments around our college. The accommodation cost was quite low compared to other cities of the country. I used to live in a two bedroom apartment for four years for seven thousand rupees per month, which is around 15 kms from the college.

Alumni/Alumna

My experience with college senior was quite friendly and informative. My seniors were very helpful and used to guide us as and when required.

Admission

I secured a rank of 6k in the WBJEE entrance examination and there after in the college allocation round I was lucky to have got myself enrolled into Techno India Saltlake. The few factors which led me choose Techno India was its faculty, friendly college environment with well equipped infrastructure, the average number of companies participating in the recruitment drive and the average package offered by them. The process of admission was very simple, we were asked to come on the orientation day to submit the required documents and collect our college stuffs like id card, library card, bag, uniform and so on. We came in the second day to attend a induction session and allotment of sections. And thus began my journey of four years.

Faculty

4.5

For every subject there are at least 2 faculties and for every subjects with practical there are at least one lab or technical assistant. The total number of courses offered by my college is around 15 including the B. Tech, BCA, MCA, BBA. Most of the faculty are very sound and technically great. They were mainly form NITs and IITs.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
