Chemical Engineering Hub

Its a government college and completely tied up with university work load so u can say the process of results declaration and all is somewhat slow.

Chemical Engineering is one of the renowned course in core enginerring and Laxminarayan Insitute of Technology (LIT), Nagpur is one of the best institution for this as this college provide B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and Technology. Its a Chemical Hub.Given MHCET exam to enter in the college and scored 115/200. I got the seat for chemical engineering after filling forms in CAP rounds after the exams.College have seats quota for JEE candidates also.

Course was blended as per the requirement of chemical engineering curriculum and the best part was that the practicals were real (batch size or medium size) and Ist Year was not common here as in other engineering colleges, for chemical engineering students the first year is with pure industrial chemistry and physics.

During my college when I was in third year done my industrial training at Lupin Pharmaceuticals, MP. College has good system for training and placements. We have done the coordination under Mr. Ghisad. During Industrial Training no stipend is provided as such because the training period is of 1-2 months. About 130 students undergo training at different industrial locations every year.

Good companies come here for placements viz BPCL, HPCL, Essar, Honeywell, Thermax, Asian ppg, TATA, Flour Daniel, Technimont, Indorama Synthetics, Praj, Reliance, Ambuja Cements, BASF, SABMILLER, Mapro, Godrej, Pyramid E&C, IBM India, Atul polymers, Galaxy Surfactants, Sanmar Engineering etc, Average vary from 3.5 lacs to 6.5 lacs PA.As I am pass out of 2010, at my time highest package was 8 lacs pa from BPCL.Approx. out of 85 students in our batch 60-65 were selected in various companies and rest have taken admission in IIT, BITS for higher education.

Fees is feasible and affordable as its a government college 24000 per year For OBC its 9000 PAFor SC/ST its 9000 PA and its refundable also they are eligible for scholarship money also.

Scholarship facility is available for SC/ST Candidates.as per my knowledge loan facility is not available unless until its a special economical weak category case.

College take participation in sports with competition with other colleges at university level viz in cricket, volleyball etc.Labs are up to the state of art specifically the process control, heat transfer and organic chemistry labs.Technical and general debates, seminars dept. wise and technology wise are also held time to time.

A good experience with them we still in touch with them and they guide us in all proper ways they can. The best part is being LIT they are very much supportive.

Exam structure as per nagpur university rules.First year common exam.From second year sem wise exams (summer/winter)Labs are big and practicals are really hectic because its a chemical lab and you have to produce the result with experiments and procedure and not mere theory but all the labs are industrial based, you will get the feel of working in industry only.

Presently Institute offers Four Year B.Tech. (Chemical Engineering) programme with intake capacity of 74. Four Year B.Tech. programme in Chemical Technology with specialization branches i.e. Petrochemical Technology, Food Technology, Pulp & Paper Technology, Oil Technology, Plastic & Polymer Technology and Surface Coating Technology with intake capacity of 10 students in each of the branches.The Laxminarayan Institute of Technology proudly boasts of a full fledged Department in the field of Chemical Engineering suited to such fields as Mass Transfer, Heat Transfer, Unit Operations and Fuels and Combustion. A Process Control Laboratory guides students in the State of Art in the Industry.
