Remarks
Ramnarain Ruia is well known for its academics and the exposure one gets in college. The curriculum, faculties, students, culture and diversity are perfect. The management of the college is good. Every department trains the students best. The fest of college provides extracurricular activities for the students. There is no placement for bachelor's students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The professors are highly qualified with a PhD degrees and some with masters. The college has a good student-mentor ratio. In one batch there are around 30 to 40 students. The curriculum is very appropriate since the college is now autonomous. Theories and practicals are conducted effectively. Exams are semesters wise whereas there are assignments and other basic tests taken on a weekly basis.
Placement Experience
There are no placements through college. You have to search for a job on your own. If you are interested in research or industrial work microbiology is for you. The stipend that you will get as fresher ranges from 5k to 20k per month. After BSc in microbiology, you can opt for master's in the same field or can choose biological science, life science or biotechnology. The scope and profile are purely based on research skills. If interested in 10 hours of lab work research definitely go for it.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is pretty much affordable it is just 7k a year excluding library and departmental fees. There's scholarship assistance given for meritorious students. Also, there's a girl fee ship concession provided. The job opportunities are not there for bachelor's students, though there are job fairs once a year they choose master's students or high-profile based students.
Campus Life
The campus is not that big but has a clean and decent environment to hang out in. Cultural diversity helps a lot to engage in various activities. We have various committees sports club, gym, girls/boys common room with indoor games, the committee for disabled( blind or ear impairment) students, national social service and the Ruia science association. The college has two fests inter and intramural. It is a lot of fun and has a very good aura.
