Anonymous's Review On Vogue Institute Of Art And Design - [VIFT], Bangalore

Honestly, this was college was not in my list. When I came to Bangalore I was suppose to go to a different college but there was some issue and I couldn't join and I heard about this College and just tried my luck if they are taking the admission or not. Though the college is actually good enough there are some major issues with the management department. And the campus is a bit small but attractive.

The course is very interesting you get to learn about a lot of stuff like proper sketching, illustration, how to bulit a garment, sewing, your own fashion garments collection, business management, thought process of everything in fashion, accessories and alot more. Faculties here are very supportive and encouraging. Helps you open your mind and think of your own creative idea and let you be who you are. At the same time they are very friendly and open minded.

We have to do a compulsory internship between our 2nd and 3rd year of college. I worked at Matrix Clothing Pvt LTD in Gurgaon. I worked without stipend. I was working with the menswear merchandising department. I learnt alot about production of clothing, design development and all the other departments related to it. It helped me understand the next semester of my college well and even I could relate to things which were taught in college before. I even designed 3-4 t-shirt samples for superdry Autumn/Winter collection 2020 during my internship.

This year for placements 5-6 companies came which were Puma, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Bestseller, Angadi with the job profile of fashion consultant and visual merchandising. In total 20-25 students got placed in one or the other company. The process involves 3 rounds, first is the written test in which the company gives a questionnaire to be done students are selected accordingly, second is the group discussion where you are divided into group's one by one the group's are called on the spot a topic related to fashion or general is given about which you have to speak in the given time limit again students are selected accordingly, last is the personal interview the students selected are called for interview in the company, students who make it to PI are selected students for the job.

There alot of event's in college and out of college like annual day, fest's, ethnic day, fashion shows and alot of competitions where the students have to construct models and have their own ideas and creativity which helps you to think more efficiently. The college also puts up all the pujas like Ganesh chaturti, durgapuja, Holi,Diwali ect.

The campus is a bit small than other college campues but it is very attractive and looks like a proepr designing college. There are some issues but other wise the college is good. The location of the campus is a bit isolated. It's between this industrial area in Bangalore, doddabalapura,apparel park in middle of manufacturing companies and industries. So there is nothing around the college. As the area is isolated the college doesn't let any student go out in college hours till it's very important. Other than that college has a canteen with homely food for lunch and has a all the equipment's neend for the studies.

The hostel system in this College is different. They are tied up with several societies for flats for students with a proper care taker and warden to look after. So the student is open to select their own flat,room and bed, sharing the flat with 6 others. So 7 people in a flat with proper food, furniture, house holds ect. There are some rules and regulations to be followed in the society and when to be inside the society. At the same time you are free to go anywhere you want to, just have to inform the warden. Boys and girls Pg are different and even located in different places. The areas where the pg are located is good and safe. Everything needed is around the pg like hospital, grocery store, police station,bus stop etc.
