Remarks

This college is very good and reputed for BCom courses. Heramba Chandra College (also known as Sivanath Sastri College in the morning shift and Prafulla Chandra College in the evening shift) ranks no. 3 in Kolkata after Goenka and Xaviers' in BCom courses

Course Curriculum Overview

Our curriculum is at par with other colleges. Our teachers are very supportive and cooperative and helps us in every way possible for our better future. The commerce department is by far the best in the college.

Placement Experience

We do not have a placement cell in this college. The college takes classes on counselling and career guidance very frequently to make sure we are well informed about the future prospects and opportunities.

College Events

Events include freshers party, Annual fest, sports day and Farewell party which are organised by both the teachers and students. All these events take place inside the college campus. We also have a cultural club which helps the students to explore their talents.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.
