State Joint Entrance (WBJEE) 24000 Well not a good rankbut i got IT through e-counselling,I already knew core java, sql and was good a t programming and had a huge interest so i opted for IT (nothing different from CSE) people have a wrong notion.

As our semester is in june and december respectively, so it is not quite possible to appear for intern-ships, still during 4th year few companies contacted for internship, like Ixia,tcs etc. Average stipend was 15k. Our unversity has set up our semsters at such odd times, that we are unable to go or apply for intern-ships even if we want.

Placements are quite rather good enough.Companies that came were, Persistent,TCS, SAP labs, Mu Sigma, Mindtree, Igate, IBS, Thoughtworks etc. Many were pool placement drives. Well avg salary was 3.2 lpa though Thought Works offered 6.3lpa. 70% of eligible students got placed. Overall previous year(2015) placemnet is good,and few companies are yet to hold placement drives in 2016.

We organize Avenir(tech fest) around April and soon after that our Cultural fest. Cultural fest depends solely on the sponsor and participation,whereas Avenir is much bigger, a lot of participation from around West Bengal. I was in the gaming event, Almost 50 teams participated in Counter Strike apart from our college teams. Robotics event is also outstanding. More and more sponsors are getting interested in Avenir with every passing year.

Neither too expensive nor too feasible. If one has scholarship then its feasible for him/her. Our semester fees on an average is 38k,around 3lakhs total for 8 sems.this semester fees include, lab fees,tution fees,library fees.

I don't know of any such, but few of my friends got a scholarship i know for sure. They had good percentile in their boards and also they had economic problems that is why they were given.

We used to have a hostel but as more and more PGs and affordable messes have sprung around near the college premises,we dont have a hostel anymore.Almost every house in that area is a student's mess or PG.A lot of Restaurants and hotels are available within 2km radius of the college.

Well best seniors one can ask for. We all are frightened at some point about seniors ragging juniors etc but our seniors are like our friends. We have hangouts together, parties, celebration. They have guided us well during our placements (apart from our faculties). We got introduced to their seniors and so on through them. Well really our seniors are a lot cooler and knows how to treat juniors and we all respect them too.

Alright. Pretty much two slot tests and then semesters. Neither chilled out, nor hectic.Two slot tests are generally one month apart, covering halves of the syllabus. Then after 2 weeks of the last slot test we have our lab exams. After another Week we have our semester exams, which are on alternate days.

Well faculty are too good. Every teacher is well qualified and knows their stuff. Besides very supporting and motivating. They are like a family to us now, in 4th year. The did their best to reach to the students, to help them and are quite understanding. Many teachers forget that they were once students too, but our faculties keep that in mind,and balance our assignments and submissions. We have always got their support, during our placement drives, they have encouraged us again and again. We owe a lot to them.
