Heramba Chandra College is one of the oldest colleges in Kolkata to provide a BCom course. It ranks no.3 for BCOM honours course in Kolkata after Goenka College of Commerce and Management and St. Xavier’s College.

Course Curriculum Overview

We Follow the course curriculum as per Calcutta University. The faculty of BCom department is exceptionally good. All the teachers and the non-teaching staffs are very supportive and helpful. All the professors provide us with notes and study materials regularly. Doubt clearing sessions are also conducted.

Placement Experience

We do not have a placement cell in our college. However the college is trying to build up a placement cell for the better future of the students. We are imparted training and counselling regularly so as to achieve new heights in our life.

College Events

We have a lot of extra curricular activities which are taken care of by the different clubs we have in our college like the dance club, the karate club, the literary club and the debate society. Inter-college competitions take place every year. Sports day, foundation day, annual program and freshers party or a big celebration for the college. All these events are organised by the college and the students

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

I Didn't take any admission test, process is easy Just type in ur documents and wait for the list and then it is done. For me personally my nake came in the second list As I was not a SC/ST/OBC student But students who scored lesser than me were selected in the first list...Read More
