Remarks

It is one of the most reputed and well known college for commercial courses like BCom, after Goenka College of Comemrce and St. Xaviers’. College. It has several notable alumnis’ and was recommended by my teachers and family.

Course Curriculum Overview

The professors are very supportive And helpful. They never fail to complete the syllabus and provides us with study materials from time to time. The BCom and BA Honours faculties are the best in the college.

Placement Experience

We have three shifts in our college but we still don’t have any placement cell mentioned in the website. Since I’m a first year student, I have a very little to negligible knowledge about placement cell in our college or the average package offered or the companies coming up.

College Events

We have Extra curricular activities in the college like the indoor-outdoor sports, cultural activities like singing and dancing and debate competitions. Events include annual fest, Holi celebration, Freshers Party and more.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.
