Remarks

It was a nearby institute thereby easiness to travel. Good caring and teaching. Nice ambiance. I had rank below 50 among applicants ranking based on marks. So I was selected in the college merit category and they availed me scholarships. Each year I get a 25k reduction from the total fee.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is a bit worse bcoz most of the courses are not much useful for future jobs. Some of the courses are really a waste. Academics going well, with good support from all. Faculties so good, have good knowledge on the topic and teach well.

Placement Experience

A lot of companies visit our college. I think almost 30 companies mainly for cse, mech, and electronics. Companies like Infosys, UST Global, IBM, Quest global, and so on. More students are placed in Infosys. The placement unit is good. Alumni referrals are not available. Entrepreneur cell is good and it costs 20k for a startup in our college.

College Events

A lot of events are conducted by various organizations in the college. Also once in two years, we have intercollege fest TEJASVI and college day for each year. The only festival that is well celebrated is ONAM. Arts fest are conducted on every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, I got a scholarship of 25k. The college will allot a ranking for the students. It's their right to choose between govt and a college scholarship. The students with a ranking below 50 in the College merit list will be provided scholarships.

Campus Life

Two out of five departments in our college got accredited by NBA. That implies infrastructure is quite good. Sports facilities are there. Wifi is available. The size of the library is also appropriate. Labs are well equipped.

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Is engineering here worth it?
