Debasish Panda's Review On Silicon University, Bhubaneswar

This is a reputed college and one of the best private colleges in Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. The placement record of this college was higher than others and the fee structure is also much less than any other private engineering colleges in Bhubaneswar.

The faculties are quite friendly and helpful to the students. They are also quite humble and polite too. All the faculties are well experienced and dedicated to their work. But then yes, not all faculties are same, some are there who are sometimes rude to the students. But all of them are open to clear any doubts of any student.

Various companies such as TCS, Accenture, Mindtree, Infosys, Mindfire Solutions and many more come for recruitment of the graduates and most of the students get placed. Some of the students also opt for higher studies or work on their own startups. The startups can be funded by the college if they like our idea that we have to present before the Entrepreneur cell. Some successful start-ups such as Lecture Notes and Biggies have been started by Siliconites.

The motto itself of the college is "Beyond Teaching." and it works as per it too. The college authorities encourage us to participate in various extracurricular activities both inside and outside the campus, but at the same time, they don't provide the localite with the required facilities as most of the events within the college are organised after the college hours. But the hostelites can easily avail such opportunities to boost up their skills.

I had not applied or availed of any loan facility but yes there is one such facility available for those whose economic conditions aren't that good and they meet the other requirements as mentioned in the college curriculum. They have to submit some documents including their INCOME CERTIFICATE as proof.

Though the campus is not that large, it has all the necessary stuff which an engineering graduate would require during his stay in the campus ranging from the football field, basketball court, library with 200+ sitting arrangement and all sorts of books, cafeteria, garden, Sky-lab ( wifi zone with benches to sit and music fountain). There is also a stationery shop on the campus which has all the stuffs like eatables, files, copies and what not.

I haven't opted for a hostel but have been there quite a few times since all are allowed to enter the hostel during college hours. There are two boys hostels and one girl's hostel each with a separate badminton court. Each floor of the hostel has got two-three bathrooms and each set of the bathroom has eight separate cabins. In each room, four students are allowed and provided with separate beds, study tables and wardrobes.
