Suryansh Mishra's Review On National Institute Of Technology - [NIT], Srinagar

1.First of all my marks in JEE Mains was not that much that i could get other top rank NIT's. 2.I was very specific with my branch as one should always be clear that whether he wants to go for better NIT's with lower branches or Lower rank NIT's with good branch. 3.I am nature lover and all of you know that NIT SRINAGAR is one of India's most beautiful colleges of India. 4.Placements were also somewhat good and talking of Electrical Engineering Department it has some very Highly qualified professors that can give you a different way of learning and understanding the subjects.

The course was completely based on scenario of Electrical Engineering in the world.It was almost similar to the course of other NIT's with alteration in sequence.It was also relevant to many Competitive exams that most of students opt for after completion of there graduation eg. GATE,ESE,IAS(option technical) and other state services exams In every semester there was an educational tour that was arranged by our H.O.D to any Power Plant or Hydroelectric projects,several Power stations etc, Most of the Faculties of our college were post doc. From some of the most reputative universities/colleges of India.They had good teaching experience.One of my favorite faculty was Mr. Abid Bajaj who used to teach us subjects like microprocessor,control system.

I have completed my internship from BHEL Haridwar.My profile was of vocational internship.There we were not offered with any stipend but we were awarded with certification after the completion of our intern.

There are many companies visiting every year in which most of them are for computer science students like Neutanicss,Adobe,Wipro,Browser stack(they are the companies which give very handsome packages).The profile these companies offer are mostly Software engineers.For other branches like L&T,Tata project,Tata steel,Tata motors,Crompton Greeves,Maruti SuzukiABB,Godrej,Psu's like Power Grid,ECIL,Gail,Mecon etc profile they offer are mostly GET(Graduate Engineering Trainee).The total No. Of students placed are around 300 to 350 every year. The placement process of most of the companies are same like first round is Aptitude followed by GD.After GD the selected students from previous round are called for interview that consist of Technical interview Followed by HR round.

Campus life at NIT Srinagar is awsome and it will be like heaven for those who are nature lovers.The college is surrounded with mountains and is situated on the side of Dal Lake,apart from that many cultural events like fresher's,farewell,Janmashtami celebration,Diwali and Holi celebrations,Alumni meet take place every year.For technical festival there is only Techveganza that is official NIT Srinagar technical taking place every year.Students from different colleges are invited to take part in different events.Several other technical events are Idea Challenge,Innovation challenge in which prize money is awarded to the students who come first second or third.

No such scholarships were awarded from college,instead many students use to apply for scholarships provided by there state government in the basis of there financial status and performance in college academics.

The 1st,2nd,3rd year hostels are having quite big rooms to accommodate 4 students with each student is provided with separate shelf for books,separate beds, mattresses and all one has to arrange from his own.Each hostel is divided into 3 floors and each floor having 2 sets of 3 toilets and washrooms.For 4th year hostel very student gets separate rooms but the rooms are relatively smaller in size but good for single person. There is very rare chance that if a student wants to take hostel and is not able to get because there are 8 hostels with one mega hostel with accommodation of around 700 to 800 students.PG's are of normal rent let say for 2 person it will cost around 7-8 thousand per month with 2bhk.
