Remarks

I had commerce since class 9 and i continued with it in 11 as well. I love commerce and i am really passionate about the subject. Heramba Chandra College is very well known throughout kolkata for it's amazing commerce department. It has a very good reputation.

Course Curriculum Overview

The teachers are not that good. They're very inefficient and they do not take classes everyday. They do not complete the syllabus and we are expected to complete everything on our own. We have seminar and webnars but those are not compulsory so most of the students do not attend these.

Placement Experience

I don't know much about the placement cell or our college as we were not introduced to it so it can be considered that it is not that good. We are not given internship opportunities so we have to reply on outside internships for experience

College Events

The campus is very old and boring. The building of our college itself is really dirty and old. There's no maintenance and no proper care. The furniture is very old dirty and broken. The classrooms are huge but they do not have fans. A classroom can hold upto 200 students but has only 4 fans.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.
