Heramba Chandra College or South city college is one of the best and popular commerce college in Kolkata. It is under Calcutta University. And Calcutta University is very good. Also i got chance in this college so i took admission

Course Curriculum Overview

The teachers are not that good of this college. The college is known for its academics but unfortunately the teachers are very lazy and they do not come to class. They're mostly absent or busy in some other work.

Placement Experience

Heramba Chandra College has a placement cell but its not up to the mark. Very less companies are invited for placement and less students are placed every year. The college is very old so there are many reputed alumni passouts from our college

College Events

We have student union in our college which conducts fests and other fun extracurricular activities in college. The fests are fun but not that big since the budget for these fests are very limited because these are organised by students

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.
