Remarks

Overall I had a terrible experience with the college management. I was sick in my third year and was not able to my submissions on time. Due to this my internal marks was affected badly. In the final semester I had given my orals 3 times because the internal college staff were not ready to promote me. This affected my overall score badly.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

The electrical stream is a bit difficult in understanding. Also there were few teachers who were very junior and didnot had the understanding of the subjects. The college was newly started at that time and we didnot had some teachers for few subjects in the college.

Placement Experience

1

The placement was good as the college was under the University of Pune. But there were specific criteria for every placement interviews.

College Events

1.5

There were many cultural events happened every year. Starting from annual gathering for entire college. There were some events department wise too. Few were like Firodaya, Mechetronics, Cultural events, different field events, outings with batch mates.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees was much higher for other state student and comparatively less for the one from the maharashtra state. One coming from outside state had to pay Rs 55000 annual fees compared to only Rs 22000 for Maharashtra state and only Rs 7000 for the management quota students.

Fees and Financial Aid

There was no scholarship given to any of the students. My parents didnot go for any education loan. The entire fees was supposed to be paid at the start of the year in the first semester itself.

Campus Life

0.5

It was a new college at that time. So the infrastructure was not so good. Many of the departments, labs, classes, library, computer lab etc was started in front of us when we joined the college. The college didnot have any cafeteria of their own so we had to be dependent on the outside canteen and tuck shops for food and snacks.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There was no hostel facilities for the the male students. We have to look out for accommodation and food by outself. I got a hostel room for Rs 2000 in year 2002 and we had to pay almost Rs 3000 for the food. We had to manage out self transport as well because there was no college buses.

Alumni/Alumna

Ours batch was the first batch in the electrical stream so I didnot have any seniors. But the batch mates were divided into 2 groups. One from the Maharashtra state and other from the non Maharashtra states and we had frequent clashes in these groups.

Admission

I had appeared for the MHCET exam in 2002 and got this college based on the merit list. I had opted for Electrical Engineering as it was a core branch in engineering. I had to reach Sadar Patel College of Engineering in Mumbai and from there based on the merit list I selected this college.

Faculty

0.5

There were few professors who had earlier taught in Government college of engineering and had vast experience of the subjects. There were very well capable of handing the curriculum. But again there were very biased towards the local students compared with the other states student crowd.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
