Remarks

College management is extremely supportive. The Dean's, Exam Cell head rotates yearly. Annual budget is also provided to various clubs.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The learning is pretty application based and the courses are industry relevant. Many a times there are industry experts for special lectures. You can choose electives of your choice from different branches to have a flair of that subject. You also get to visit industries which is an added advantage. The board of the college is good and strives for continual improvement. e. g I had taken an elective of MATLAB and my lecturer had flown from Canada for that particular subject.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college has a centralized placement cell and there are companies right from Amazon, Google, E-bay, Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse, D. E. Shaw, IBM to Bajaj, John Deere, Hyundai, Tata Steel, Kirloskar, JSW giving offers. The companies in which people from my branch were placed are Kirloskar, JSW, Alfa Laval, Hindalco, etc. Some of the branches like Production, Metallurgy have compulsory internship credit and the college gives a support to get through the internship process. The college holds the reputation of 100% placement. There is a mock test taken before the placement starts which helps the students in preparation. The recruitment drive is generally test, GD, PI each being an eliminative process.

College Events

5

Tech fest - Mind Spark, Cultural - Impressions, Sports - Zest, Boat Club - Regatta. Apart from these mega events, the college boasts of an 100+ years old fiction magazine legacy, Robotics Club, BAJA which has won many national and international SAE prizes.

Fee Structure And Facilities

When I did my engineering the fee paid by me in 2015 was around 70k inclusive of hostel fees which was a pretty decent amount. The fees then could be paid by RTGS, NEFT or cash. There is a transparency in fee structure. There are no additional charges to be paid once the admission fee is given to the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are plenty of scholarship opportunities and the eligibility criteria is 12th percentage for F. Y. and GPA for subsequent years. The scholarship amount is different everytime.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratios are balanced if all the branches are considered. The campus is ragging free with no political influence. There Indians from different states, NRIs, PIOs, etc. The labs and classrooms are extremely well kept and state of the art. There is no discrimination based on religion, caste, gender or social background.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

During my time the hostel fee was Rs. 12000 for Indians exclusive of meal charges. For NRIs it was different. The girls hostel is pretty good with attached toilet bathroom and 3 people have to stay together. The boys hostel is a bit conjusted with bunk beds wherein 4 people stay together.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is strong as there is an Alumni section. Every year there are alumni meets. The alumni keep on supporting the college in terms of sponsorship for various events, scholarships, etc.

Admission

I have done my 12th std in PCM group and written the MH-CET entrance exam. I had gotten a score of 147 so I had an option of Metallurgy as a branch. I opted for this college because this is one of the best colleges in India and the best autonomous college in Maharashtra. You get to mingle with the best brains of the state and along with it, you have so many extra curricular activities to do. Also, the location has an added advantage of the proximity to the industrial area. The college has a good library and a cheap but a good hostel facility. It also offers great placements. Once you go through the entrance exam and get your results, CAP rounds are conducted by DTE for admission.

Faculty

4

The faculty is minimum M. Tech. / M. Sc. qualified and are doing a Ph. D. Many of the teachers are industry experts or consultant to industries. Some are also alumni of IITs/ NITs. The lectures on an average have an experience of 7 - 10 years. This is a rough figure and there is a likelihood of the experience being on the higher side.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
