College is under University and University is under the control of the government.

It is more research oriented in the postgraduate program. The campus placement for postgraduates are very poor, but the bachelor programs have very vast opportunities in the on camp placements. Various workshops are conducted by various departments in a year to support the ongoing industrial standards and experience for the students.

Lots of events due to the number of departments in the university. Each department has its own events. DHISHNA is one of the major events at the university. Both arts and sports festivals are conducted in the university for that various auditorium and grounds are available within the university premises.

When it comes to post-graduation, it's a bit expensive. But others are reasonable which comes under government control. Also, the fee structure for part-time courses are very less but for international students, the fee structure seems to be a bit higher than the usual fee, but still cheaper.

GATE scholarship obtained by qualifying the Gate exam. College gives other scholarships as supported by the government as well. For financially weaker students special aid is given like fee reduction and stipend etc.

More girls than boys in college. Lots of workshops and events throughout the year. Even international students from various parts of the world come here for research and post-graduation. The politics inside the campus is very strong due to the strong students union.

There are lots of hostels available in the campus. For boys, it's two sharing rooms and common bathrooms on all the floor. The hostels are well maintained by the cleaning staffs and the mess is given to private agencies under the supervision of the students union.

There are Facebook groups for helping out new students. Also, the students union inside the amenity building will have students willing to help out people coming to the university.

Cochin University is the best place in Kerala to study Geotechnical engineering due to the presence of experienced faculties in the field. Gate exam score is the only criteria for getting into post-graduate degree and Cochin University candidate aptitude test (CAT) for getting into bachelor programs.

More experienced than any other in the state and the works can be viewed on the Google scholar of necessary. The works done by our faculties are on par with the faculties of IITs and other prestigious institutions throughout India and the works are being published in the peer-reviewed journals also.
