Remarks

Last but not the least the college life of anybody should be memorable, enjoyable and foremost learnable as this is the face of enhancement. And all the thing I talked about, my college provide me.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

In our curriculum we had various subjects like Zoology, Botany, Chemistry etc. and for each subjects we were assigned the labs besides theoretical classes which of-course helped us understanding the topics very well. The curriculum made the basics of research driven in many advanced industries and labs like in Biotechnology, Genetics, Analytical Chemistry in pharma industries etc.

Placement Experience

2.5

My college did not had any placement cell at that time but now it has. The students have to register themselves on the portal of Delhi University and after registration a attestation is required by principal of the concerned college. In month of Sep-Nov the common placement drive happened in north campus where various companies like wipro, HCl, IDS infotech etc came and recruit the students.

College Events

4.5

Zakir Husain is well know for its heritage festivals as it is the oldest institution of Delhi University. The college has various events in its calendar like Annual Day, Convocation Day, Diwali Decoration Competition, NCC and NSS Fest, Freshers and Farewell parties etc. Students from various other colleges also come to participate in competitions and in fests were famous celebrities of persons are called to perform.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My program fee of B.Sc Life Sciences was Rs.12500 only and has to be paid in college manually but now a days it can be pay online as well. In addition to that you have to deposit security amount on Rs.500 for labs(in case of science students only) which is refunded after your final exams. The fee-breakdown is fully transparent.

Fees and Financial Aid

The students can take education loan from bank prior to authorization from the college principal if they are not able to pay fee. Besides loan the Delhi University gives scholarships to OBC/SC/ST students and now EWS also on yearly bases. The amount of scholarship can be vary as per the course.

Campus Life

4

The gender ration of Zakir Husain is almost same or I must say slightly less number of boys as compare to girls in the college. The students organizes various official parties like freshers and farewell parties on permission from concerned department. The college has zero tolerance in the equality with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status. The extracurricular activities like NCC, NSS, basketball etc are at foremost and so as labs like chemistry, electronics, Zoology etc.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors of the college are very helpful as they know how to take care of their juniors and trust me it is like in the heritage of the college passing from one generation of the batch to the other. My seniors always guide me in the right path of my carrier like where should I join in my specific field, which company is best suitable for work-life balance etc. Even after my college I am connected with my seniors and of-course receives many messages and calls of my juniors.

Admission

As I am a medical student and had biology as one of my main subject, so just after my 12th exam result I filed the DU online registration form and waited for the release of cutoffs. On second cutoff my marks suitably cleared the Life Sciences cutoff in Zakir Husain Delhi College and I decided to take admission. I went to college with all the relevant documents required at that time and got admission. All the steps are as it is followed till now.

Faculty

4.5

We had many of the best lecturers in our college, about 26-30 in numbers and in the age group of 28-60 years. Majority of them were doctorate and few of the had completed their masters and are in pursue of doctorates. Each lecturer was specialized in his/her subjects which helps students giving them the best clarity about subject. I remember one of our teachers had worked in CSIR Biotech department and gave us the vision about the future industry need in the field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum consists of relatable topics and interesting ones as well this is what quite influenced me to take this course. We have labs which help us learn how to prepare various organic compounds which are used in many day to day products . The course also has a 4th year research program. There should be more equipments in lab for the research. The frequency is good for exams being conducted and there level is also quite good

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
