Remarks

Gargi college has a great canteen that attracts students from the nearby colleges as well. We have a good WiFi network throughout the college. The washrooms are clean. There are a number of fields, parks and open spaces for lounging in the sun.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

In our college all types of courses are available like arts, commerce and science. It is known for the science field. Many language courses are also available ie, English, Spanish etc. Exams are held twice in a year. Odd semesters are conducted in the month of November while even semesters being conducted in May. The exam structure follows the same pattern that we had in schools with a bit of change. While we did not have to submit assignments in schools and neither did we have an exam of 75 marks, in college, they expect an assignment and based on it, the internal assessment is made. This is followed by an exam of 75 marks.

Placement Experience

5

Our college is also well known for its placement cell especially when we talk about commerce. Many renowned companies like Samsung, Wipro visit every year in our college for placements as well as internships. Number of famous companies turn up and based on the academic performance of the students, they select them for an interview session. As a fresher, I don't have much knowledge and information regarding stipends but it reaches up to Rs.10,000 depending upon work quality.

College Events

4.5

Every department conducts its own annual fests, for example, commerce fest, botany fest, psychology fest and so on. Our college is having different societies in which any of students can be members of it on the basis of their skills, knowledge and interest. Some of the societies are dramatic society, western dance society, Hindi or English debate society etc. They also conduct inter-college competitions. If we talk about the annual fest of our college known as reverie, it is one of the grand fest of Delhi University. Apart from Reverie, we also have the Diwali Mela, seminars, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As a Delhi university college, the fee structure is not very expensive. For economically backward classes, there's a considerable compensation when it comes to the fee payment. Not only, but students can also apply for scholarships.

Fees and Financial Aid

For economically backward classes, there's a considerable compensation when it comes to the fee payment. Students can also apply for scholarships. There's a good, in fact, one of the best scholarships provided by my college. But then again it entirely depends on your economic status. If a student is economically backward, she can avail the scholarship where they have to pay a meagre amount in the name of fee or if the situation demands, no fee at all.

Campus Life

4

The curriculum is extensive and rich enough to induce an idea of understanding and curiosity among the young minds of this generation. There are quite a number of educational trips followed by seminars and workshops(organised by the college)that keep the students engaged and interested.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I don't have any idea because I don't live in PG or hostel. Yet my college does not provide any hostel facility unlike the other colleges of Delhi University. This is owing to the fact that there's a shortage of space. Besides, the location of the college acts as a hindrance in expanding the infrastructure. Moreover, there are some PGs and hostels nearby for students who come to study in our college from far apart. There are some hostels for army students as well.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are very helpful and approachable. As for the alumni network, we observed that its extremely strong for its based on cordial relations and a willingness to help each other grow. So they are available for each other as well as their juniors. I observed this when I participated in the sports day of our college. They are always anyhow available for us when we need them. During sports day they took whole responsibly from dress code to refreshments. I will never forget that day.

Admission

I am in Gargi College which is situated on Siri Fort road. It is part of Delhi University and the procedure of taking admission in any of the Delhi university college is almost same. For taking admission I just filled the online registration form when they are out. Then after declaration of our 12th result cutoffs were declared. My university announces the cutoffs until all the seats are filled. And students can take admission as per their marks obtained in their 12th standard. Then you are required to go to the college within the prescribed time period for completion of admission procedure thereafter. Then you will meet volunteers of college who will help you to solve all your queries. Moreover, you are required to submit the fees for the whole year for completion of admission process after which you will receive a message of confirmation. During the time of my admission, I faced a lot of dilemma regarding which course is to be chosen over another. I was fine in mathematics so I wanted to opt Maths Hons moreover I was also interested in learning the language so, on the other hand, I wanted to go for English Hons. So after taking suggestions from my elders I finally decided to choose Bcom Hons which includes all the subjects.

Faculty

5

Teachers and faculties of our college are very cooperation with us. All the teachers are well educated and have wider range of knowledge in their own field. They are always ready to help us and solve queries of each and every individual. They help us in lifting us in our own path.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
