Jai Hind College is a great college especially for the B.Com degree. It's definitely in the Top 10 list in Mumbai and a great experience for all students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The B. Com course is an ideal course for students looking to gain exposure in the world of Finance, Marketing, Economics, Accounting etc. The course is structured in a manner which allows students to pursue other professional degree as well such as Chartered Accountancy, CFA, Company Secretary etc.
Placement Experience
Being a top 10 college, Jai Hind College attracts the best comapnies for placements. The placement season generally begins in the first few months of the third year and students are expected to clear 3-5 rounds of selection in order to get placed. These rounds include, aptitute tests, group discussions, case studies and interview rounds.
College Events
The Jai Hind College Advertising Festival is one of the biggest events for B. Com students. Other than that students can choose to participate in various sporting and cultural activities that take place throughout the year. The primary focus of the college is on academic rigor followed by clubs run by various student bodies. These clubs promote economic events, advertising events to name a few.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees are in the range of INR 20, 000 per year. The college accepts bank transfer, cash payment and demand deposits. There are no additional fees and the college is very transparent in their fee breakdown. The admissions office is easily accessible to any student or prospective student for assistance.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not opt for scholarships or education loan. I am not aware of any such processes and the students wishing to avail these could reach out to the admissions office.
Campus Life
My batch size was roughly 400 students. The gender ratio would be around 2. 5:1. 5 i. e 250 boys vs 150 girls. Unfortunately I am not aware of any robotics labs on campus however there are ample opportunities for sports and other competitions. Cultural events and club events are the flagship events of the year and the JAF is B. Coms flagship event of the year.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes the Alumni are very helpful. There are various groups on Facebook where you can connect with the Alumni.
Admission
I got selected for the merit list after submitting my application form and submitting the same in the university after getting my 12th Board results. I beleive the process has now been moved to an an online system where students can select the University and degree of their choice.
Faculty
Jai Hind College has consistently ranked among the top 10 colleges for B. Com in Mumbai and has a stellar reputation at a national level as well. The faculty are really good and very easily approachable. In terms of experiences, if you build good relationships with your faculty, you'll have opportunities to work with them on out of campus projects etc.
