A glance at HIT

The management puts up a good effort and the director is always yp in his shoes figuring out something innovative to keep the students indulged in their academics. Overall its a great experience that I gathered and I would surely suggest someone to go for it.

The exam pattern is same as any other Institute under MAKAUT. Thee internal assessments followed by a final exam constitutes each semester. Practicals don't seem to disappoint you in any sense. There is a fair scope for research and the faculties are always willing to step up to support someone provided they ask for it.

This college holds a decent record when it comes to placements. Infosys, Wipro, Extramarks, Vedantu, being the mass recruiters. Yet you have very little scope when it comes to core placements.

HIT is packed up with technical and cultural events all year round and a rapid involvement in them will surely help you through the year. There is an Annual Cultural meet, then comes PRAYUKTI, the nnual tech fest, followed by RIVIERA, the annual cultural fest. Apart from these Auspicious Paradigm and Rang Milanti are cultural extravaganzas worth mentioning and various technical events and workshops by IEEE, and a few other communities are noticeably.

The fee structure here is more feasible than most of the private engineering colleges in West Bengal. You can avail scholarships if you belong to a backward community or if you have a 75% marks in your +2 exams. If you go through a crisis, the management will be surely willing to cut down your fees by half provided you have a decent track record.

I was termed under the Tution Fee Waiver scheme which needs to be applied for while filling up the WBJEE form. We just have to upload a family income certificate of less than 250k a year. Also while choice filling, you ought to select TFW ones first.

Politics doesn't seem to find their way in Engineering Colleges and moreover each and everyone is treated equally irrespective of tgeir color and creed. However the male to female ratio is quite high. There are separate hostels for girls and boys, also anyone can opt for a PG as there are decent apartments available nearby. Extracurricular is exceptional and there are a lot of bodies functioning in HIT to bring up the hidden talents walking among us.

There are plenty of rooms available and I can assure you there won't be a deficit of seats if you want to opt for a hostel room. Yet the food in the canteen is not upto the mark. So I had to opt for a PG that rented almost the same.

Alumni of our college often visit for recruitment purposes. There is an alumni meet every year for students to interract and be motivated by their predecessors.

You can get into HIT through JEE Mains as well as WBJEE by proper choice filling in the counseling. It is considered as one of the top private colleges in West Bengal with a praise worthy infrastructure and faculties. There are scholarships available as well for the backward classes with financial concessions for the worthy. I took up Civil Engineering as curriculum for the scope it had.

Faculties are quantified and extremely cooperative in every aspect. Even HODs keep checking at intervals and they try to discard any fallacy that might come to pass. Some are a bit lost on their Communicative English skills but that isnt much of a concern since they are more than willing to impart knowledge.
