Remarks

The college is doing great except for the huge number of seats reserved for people from different casts and not necessarily economically backward students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is very relevant but not so much research-driven. It is fair to a great extent and has taught me how to manage things well and focus on understanding rather than rote learning. Being in computer science no industry visits are relevant but good care is taken.

Placement Experience

4.5

The college provides really great placement opportunities with a number of companies coming for campus recruitment. Almost everyone who applies gets a job somewhere. Similar is the situation with internships and a lot of people prefer research internships in their second year.

College Events

5

The college is culturally very rich with people from all backgrounds coming and celebrating with each other. All the festivities are celebrated enthusiastically and there are a number of events. A lot of talks from distinguished speakers on various topics.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees are very feasible with only the tuition being the main cost. Accommodation and mess facilities are very cheap. No fees for admission is needed. The college is very transparent in aspects of fee breakdown and even the use of certain development fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarships only for economically backward groups and no such opportunity was provided to me.

Campus Life

3

The campus life is really enriching with all the facilities provided beyond just academics. The gender ratio, however, is very skewed 1:10 1 being a girl, and 10 for boys. There are a lot of extracurricular activities and clubs which organize them. There is always something happening.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, the hostels are infrastructurally very poor but are very cheap accommodation as well. The mess facilities are good with every committee being headed by students and looked after. The food is good and the cost of living is just 40000 per semester.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is very strong and there is a committee that handles that. They are really helpful and approachable and you can reach them for almost every guidance. The seniors are also very helpful and there is a great bond between people.

Admission

The admission to all IITs is through the common joint entrance examination called JEE. There are 2 levels to this exam - mains and advanced. You need to clear JEE main with some criteria fluctuating every year to get to give JEE advanced. Your admission then depends on your rank in JEE advanced.

Faculty

3.5

The number of lectures is similar to most other global universities qualify to weekly 3 hours per course. The professors are really qualified and experienced however there might be a lack of enthusiasm in teaching for a few of them. The lecturers are mostly from a research background.

In Kit college their are some rules for placement drive. In 7th sem companies started to visit our college. During my placement my engineering percentage is around 70 and I am able to attend every drive. Once student get placement offer from one company that student is not allowed to apply next company which package is near to previous company. Placement in Kit college in my year is 70 to 75%. The unplaced students have decided to go for MS.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
