Course curriculum is totally industry driven and not research driven. There are many projects like buggy, robotics, capstone which will help you to enhance your practical knowledge and get a good reputed job in the college. There were industry visit from company like schneider, TCS, Microsoft to make the students alligned with the organisation. The course get updated as per induatry need and its really a well designed structure. All the knowledge you gain over 4 yrs is helpful in securing a job which should be the ultimate dream.

Placements are really nice in our college. Almost 60 percent get placed in well reputed firm. Out of 8 semester there is one semester for internship and it is generally provided by college but in case u donot find u can spemd the year in college. The overall placement for computer science is 100 percent and mechanical is around 80 percent. Companies like schneider, ABB, alstom, TATA comes for electrical every year. Before placement college organised workshop for preparing us and its really helpful for boosting the confidence. General steps followed are by companies durimg recruitment are- 1)online shortlisting based on CGPA and details provided 2)Technical test and aptitude round 3)2 to 3 round of interview 4)HR round

There are many events celebrated in our college. Main event is the saturnalia and it is the official college fest which attract students from nearby area and stars like zubin nautiyal, ritviz and benny dayal visits. Its a 4 day long fest in the month of october. Apart from that there are many other fest which include both technical and cultural. Technical include robotics, debating, story telling, plays, electrical, cars. There are events based on sports and there are regular sport meet. Students manage all these fest and bring necessary sponsorship for the fest.

If you go by the fee structure its really expensive. If we include the overall fees for 4 yrs, it will be around 16 lakh which include food, laundry and hostel. But every year they take huge money for the development work which should be taken only once and very unethical. The college fees is very high if u see the quality of teaches teaching us and you have to depend on youtube to get to syllabus done.

Based on the jee mains marks I got scholarship in the college. After that every year you get a scholarship if u are in the top 10 percentile student and I was one of them and they give 1 lkh rs to the student.

Engineering classes have a less female children specially in department like mechanical. But there were enough girl students in the college. In our department the sex ratio was 3:7. But the thing is girls get placed very easily in egineering college. There are many societies that organises meet and workshops for the students and student can perform in that as per their choice. Most you will find students of punjab but there are a huge chunk of students from chandigarh and delhi as well and I have also seen students from states like goa, west bengal. There will be no ragging and college wdopts a strict principle for protecting students who come to study (specially first year). There is no room for politics within the campus and there is no student union inside the campus although u can raise your views and opinion and it will be checked by the authoriy. There will be various workshop which will help to develop students overall personality, prepare student for placement, help in career guide.

Yes. I have opted the hostel and hostels have really good facilities with ac, geyser, TV, beds. The cleaning of hostels take place on a regular basis and its one of the best hostel in the country. The mess is controlled by sodexo and they provide quality food.

Thapar has many student and alumni working in well reputed company so there are many companies that visit thapar every year. The senior students and alumuni are really helpful and they guide the students studying really well.

Thapar generally takes admission based on JEE mains marks. The cut of is generally and u can get admission with an average marks. I got admission in 150 marks. The admission process is similar to JOSA and there are 4 to 5 round of councelling and there is a spot round ss well. The students can get admissiin after this also because there is a test that takes place in december which is very easy and based on the marks u can get admission to the college(this is for students studying in other college). Faculties in the college are not upto the mark and they dont teach anything. You will eventually loose interest in the subject. Techers are well qualified from IIT but they dont know how to teach. Course curriculum is upto the mark but the way its taught is bad. Practical labs are awesome but you get to learn really less as you dont have quality lab assistants. basically you have to do a lot many things on your own.
