College management is good. Least interfering. System is in the place that takes care of everything.
Course Curriculum Overview
Yes, course is very extensive and research oriented. In final year you have to work on a research problem which provide you to work on acquire essential skills required in industry. In 1st year you have 6 papers on three subjects. Mine were chemistry, physics and botany. You drop 1 subject in 2nd year and have three papers of any two of the 1st years subject. In third year you have 1 subject with 6 papers.
Placement Experience
Faculty helps you with information regarding the internship availability. But there was no official department that helps you with internship. College held campus interviews somewhere in February and March. Not many students apply for it. Most of the students prepare for higher education.
College Events
Ruia is known for its contribution in the cultural contribution. Drama circle has produced some of the prominent actors in India's theater television and cinema industry. Each department has its own festival. There are two festivals utsav and aroha held in December-january. This has shooting range and good boxing club which has trained quite few Olympians.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees for the courses offered by the university of of Mumbai are reasonable. These courses are subsidised by the government. There are few courses such as mass media are self funded which are quite expensive. there are few other charges for apron lab fees etc.
Campus Life
Campus life is good. Campus is at the the heart of the cultural center of the city. If you are interested in extra curricular this is one best option you have in mumbai. I didn't observed any racist behavior or sexism in the college. There is no dress code on the Place.
Alumni/Alumna
They have alumni association but I didn't find it any useful. Once in a year they meet arrange some dinner.
Admission
I got admission on the basis of merit list score of 12th grade. course is designed by the university of mumbai. course had a mix of theory and practicals with ratio of 60:40 respectively. Admission process starts just after announcement of result of 12th grade exam. For most of the BSc courses merit list is prepared on the basis of 12th grade marks.
Faculty
Faculty was excellent, hardworking and approachable. In final year you have one mentor who helps you in your research project. Chemistry department is the most popular department with highest number of faculty. At the same time their faculty to student ratio is high. All departments have good labs with all cutting age instruments available for research.
