Life at MIET Jammu

MIET Jammu is the best Technical college in the state of J&K. I was thinking of going to another state for B.Tech but due to certain conditions I couldn't. Meanwhile, the result of the JKCET (Jammu Kashmir Common Entrance Test) for technical education got declared and I got a seat in MIET. Before admission, I spent 2-3 days studying about the college and from every, I got a positive response. Whether Online or Offline, everyone was suggesting me this. So, I decided to get admission in this college. Good thing is that the college environment supports you to excel in your field and compete with the world while living in J&K. The admission process is very simple as you have to just give JKCET and wait for your merit and counselling.

I chose this course (CSE) as the scope and knowledge skills in this are very high. Also, I had a great interest in this stream and thus selected this. The college is very specialized in the courses and stream. Very highly skilled, trained, helpful and supportive faculty surrounds the students. Student ratio is 60:40. The minimum qualification of every faculty members M.Tech in the specialized stream with a high skill set. The reviewing method of the faculty is very effective and exams being conducted in proper time with proper syllabus coverage and guidance.

College provides us with both out the campus and on-campus internships depending upon the choice of the students. Students can choose and apply to different reputed companies for internships with a good stipend also and different skill set. During this period, students work on great real-time projects under the guidance of the mentors.

The placement preparation gets to start from the 5th Semester only for good results and college leaves no stone unturned while supporting the students. Timely and well-organised preparation is being provided with very top companies and learning portals for preparation. The average package in recent year was 3.45 lacs and the top package was 12 lacs. Almost about 90-95% of students got placed and students get a high variety while choosing the companies according to their interests and passion.

It costs about 70-80k per year to study in this college which I think is very less as compared to other colleges. Also, the college provides a scholarship to meritorious students and financial assistance and flexibility. The best part about the college is placements. The college is so focused on the placement of the students from the very beginning and provides a complete wide track to cover. Average salary package is 3.45 lac to vary 15-20 lacs.

The college life of the college is very naturalistic. The environment is very friendly, advanced and supportive with very cultural, curricular and academic cum sports activities. Sammilan, the best Techno Cultural Fest in J&K is organised by our college in the month of March. Also, an adventure camp is being organized every year at Patnitop in the month of September namely Survive boot camp. Classroom and Infrastructure of college are very spacious, hygienic with full of digital and required amenities. Projectors and other digital equipment are also there. A wide range of books is also available in the college library in a number of approx 10,000 with digital E-library also.
