Remarks
I feel blessed that I got an opportunity to be the part of such big institution. It is not easy to get admission in NSD but due to my eligibility, I got the admission. I'm in the second year of my diploma course and I'm constantly learning something which will be beneficial for my career in acting.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is divided in organised way that none of the skill gets missed. In the first and second year, we are supposed to learn acting, direction, theatre music, theatre techniques and many other topics. Whereas the third year is all about specialisation in which we have to opt for a subject we would like to do further make our career in.
Placement Experience
There is no as such placement offered by the institute. As it is a professional course which most of the people do to polish their acting and direction skills, you will get an opportunity to be the part of theatre if your performance is praiseworthy.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I have paid approximately INR 8,500 as an annual fee for the Diploma in Dramatic Arts. The total fee for the three year course was around 24,500. The fee structure of NSD is far less when compared to other institutions because it is a government institution.
Campus Life
We get a chance to do lot of extra curricular activities almost everyday. The institute conduct many extension programs in different parts of India. It organise workshops to train and provide us extended knowledge of theatre.
Hostel Facilities
Yes. The college provide excellent hostel facilities. I'm from a small town in Meerut and as I cannot go to my place daily, I'm residing at college hostel. The accommodation is very comfortable and reasonable otherwise, rented homes in Delhi are very costly.
Admission
The admission process was not easy. I applied for the PG diploma course online. When I was selected, I appeared for an audition and I attended a five days workshop and with my continuous applauding performance, I got admission in the institution.
Faculty
All the faculty members are renowned personalities who have years of experience in their own field. All of the acting associate professors are teaching in this college from more than 10 years. Everyday I get an opportunity to learn new acting and direction skills from them.
