A beautiful journey

Kingston university is the best law college where a student apart from being a good lawyer would also learn the hardships of life. I not only learnt law and order but polished my inner other talents like playing soccer. The teachers are still in touch and are always ready to listen to my professional issues. The friendly environment gave me the chance to interact with many law nobles and professionals, many students from different backgrounds making me the person I am today.

The degree consists of 5 years, divided each year into 2 semesters, the first two semesters are introduction to the law and political science along with english, in total 5 subjects are taught in each semester.The second and third year would level up the student and teach about civil procedure code,constitutional laws again with5 subjects each semester. The fourth and fifth year?s first semester would consist of 6 subjects and more complex details about law. Semester 10 is mainly a practical semester where the students are trained to practise law.The exams are held semester wise (externals) and in the form of internals.

The degree gives a plethora of opportunities either making us practise as an advocate in courts or work with corporate firms. We can pursue to become a judge by passing Public Service Commissions. Many firms come to hire at the beginning of the 5th year and offer great packages. 90% placement is given on campus and based on your aptitude and ability. I got selected in one of India's best law firms.

The college is about the moments, music and memories. A Conglomerate of Dreams is the best description for the evergreen festival celebrations like Basanta Utsav, the university hosts. Every student showcases his talent. Apart from the festival, the university hosts many sports events like Utpal Bhattarcharjee Memorial Inter School Soccer letting the students unite and enjoy.

College fees were feasible at INR 3,32,000 for 5 years, this is exclusive of university registrations, uniform charges, travel and food for internships. At this price the college gave wide experiences and enabled me to become the lawyer I am today. The income would make up to the fees later when you work within a year.

I was awarded a scholarship on my academic performance with 100% attendance throughout the first 3 years and 75% in my end year assessments.The minimum requirement to attain this is minimum of 70% attendance throughout the year and minimum 60% marks at the end of each year. The fees are reduced and various awards are awarded for the scholarship holder students.

The university has one of the best libraries covered in 8000 square feet space. It has various E Journals, more than 100 subscribed magazines, 30,000 plus books with educational media and digital library.We used to have communication and motivational classes making us face the world in high self esteem and confidence.The multipurpose halls are well maintained and air conditioned with sufficient spaces. Range of vehicles is hassle free and safe for student?s convenience. Computer labs and cafetaria are well designed and cleaned.The moot courts are well furnished and spacious. Medical rooms have all the emergency kits and vaccines available.The infrastructure of the university is well made and hygienic surroundings cover the campus.

The alumni meet happens every now and then and the ex students only made us more motivated and helped us grow in our respective line. They used to deliver lectures and guide us through the hardships faced by them post graduation. I learnt a lot from my alumni staff. They all used to be very polite and humble.

I got admission in BA LLB honors out of the 45% general category. The registration forms are available online on their website where you can apply. The admission is on the basis of CLAT law entrance examinations and 12th result for students securing 60% above marks. I had 80% in my board hence got the admission and 35th rank in CLAT. The course is 5 years long with a BA degree with LAW. Once you apply, you will get a confirmation mail for admission and called for counselling. The process follows to give a basic aptitude and english test which needs to be cleared, later a personal interview happens where you will be asked questions regarding the choice of course. Once you complete the admission process, verification of documents and fees submission is done.

Kingston university had the finest faculties. Their dedication worked towards bringing the best in all the mastudents. Staff shared their experiences and let us know about the law and real court feelings. The teachers led us in the moot court and presentations were often taken to enhance our confidence. All were very sweet and fluent in english which helped us to connect with them better.
