Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum set for the B.TECH. program was impressive and carried all the important subject matters which was required for the program. I learned about accountancy, finances and marketing strategy and in the 3rd and 4th semester, we had this special and elective course that we needed to put emphasis too.

Placement Experience

This college has different placement criteria set for all the final year students. In every vacation, we had a break we also has summer internship program and this program actually helped us a lot during placement drives which again was organized by the college department for all the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

B.tech. fee is about 60,000 per year and the course duration is of 4 years. So the total amount is 2,40,000 in a course. The OBC and general category gets scholarship from our college.

Campus Life

Amazing life. Everything is there. Study with fun. Sports meet take place every year. Competitions like singing competition, dancing competitions debates, quiz competitions, etc. takes place regularly. University organise many functions like tourism fest also.

Admission

I had given entrance examination and got admission in this college through counselling process. The admission process is very easy. One has to show all the certificates and marksheets of 10th and 12th.

Faculty

The proffesors are very friendly and always tries to help their students. All of them were good at communication skills. Students also get inspiration from the proffesors because they are very nice in behaviour.

Placement Experience:

At NIT Hamirpur, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester onwards, and the placement scenario has been quite encouraging in recent years. A wide range of companies such as Infosys, Wipro, L\&T, Capgemini, Tata Projects, and several core as well as IT firms visit the campus every year. The highest placement touched an impressive 2.05 crore offered to a mechanical engineering student, while the overall average package stands at around 10.5 LPA, which is a strong figure compared to many other NITs. The placement percentage remains high, with a majority of students securing offers, especially in branches like CSE, IT, and ECE, though core branches like civil and mechanical also receive good opportunities. The profiles offered include roles in software development, consulting, design, project engineering, and research. After completing my degree, I plan to take advantage of these placement opportunities to gain solid industry experience and later decide whether to pursue higher studies or competitive exams for broader career growth.

I chose this course because I liked horticulture .This course is very well applied in real world in cultivation and growing of vegetables, fruits and flowers and horticulture also has job opportunities in private sector. There are some improvements like more practical learning, real world exposure etc. that could be made to make this course more effecgive in real world application. The exams are conducted per semester and the difficulty level of exams is average.

Remarks:

There are mostly good remarks for college like the environment in kangra Himachal Pradesh is best in the area. There are dhauladar hill ranges infront for college and fress air of hilly areas are good for students.

Great Learning, Friendly Campus, and Bright Future

I applied to AKTU, IPU, and a few private colleges. I got selected in 2, but picked this college as it has low fees, good teachers, and fair job offers. Seniors also gave good reviews about the labs and coding help. Yes, I could not get a seat in IPU due to low rank. I was close but missed the cutoff for CS. My JEE score was not high enough. I did not apply under spot round as I had already joined this college. Admission is based on JEE Main or state test like HPCET. Cutoffs differ for each branch. You need to pass 12th with PCM.
