Remarks

I completed muy MA from Vivekananda College For Women. The college was quite good. I liked the college alot and learnt alot of things from college. The teachers were also quite helpful, overall I liked the college very much and will highly recommend it.

Course Curriculum Overview

Vivekananda College For Women is affiliated to the University of Calcutta. The course curriculum is student-friendly as it helps and motivates the students to concentrate on the knowledge not to run for marks.exam structure is also not hectic and easy to follow as it has semester wise approach and exams are held at the end of it.

Placement Experience

The placements of Vivekananda College For Women is well planned and structured. The college is engaged with these reputed employment agencies - ABP Career Cell, EMS and many more, where they select the students and send them to the interviews. These employment agencies help the students to get placed in good companies. Advanced Excel and Tally ERP also help the students by providing Career Counseling free of cost.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The total fee is around Rs. 15,000/- i.e. per annum a student has to pay a tuition fee of Rs. 5,000/- which is quite feasible in my opinion. The fee is so low, so students from lower sections of society can also study at the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college has a Canteen, a Gymnasium, a Medical Store, a Library and an Auditorium which is a total of 2000 sq.ft. The college library has access to almost 30000 books. The college also has both outdoor and indoor sports area.

Campus Life

Admission

Admission is purely on merit basis except for the MA program. The MA students have to undergo a college entrance exam. For the courses of interest of the students, it is mandatory to apply online for admission. However, a mix of offline and online system for all the programs can be used.

Faculty

The faculties here are very friendly and helpful. They have a high level of IQ and are the best subject matter experts on their respective subjects. The teachers display good problem solvin skills and are also good mentors.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

1. Students generally get eligible for campus placements from the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. course. 2. Deperments like Biotechnology,Botany,Zoology have placement support. 3. Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
