Our college is made up of happy people. Our principal and staff and every faculty member is always cheerful which keeps us, the students motivated to do our best. Everyone who wishes to study at a girls college should come to Deshbandhu college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course offered by the college is very different than the course structure of other colleges in India. There are different subjects in our course relating to different eras or literatures. Eg, Indian literature, Romantic British literature etc.
Placement Experience
This is my last year in college and the placements start soon. Mostly publishing houses and companies recruiting content writers and script writers come to our college. Our college also provides internship opportunities to students. The stipend structure is 3000-4000 for a month or two of working.
College Events
Our college celebrates annual fests, where other colleges participate , too! We have a huge Women? day event where every single day woman of our college takes part in something different and new. I love how diverse our college is.
Fee Structure And Facilities
My fees for the year was about 16.5 thousand rupees. The fee structure of our college is very feasible and makes it affordable for every student who wishes to study here. The fees can be paid in instalments or all at once.
Campus Life
We have an excellent drama club and we perform plays all the time. Whether it be Shakespeare? plays or Indian drama. It is all covered here. I am a part of the photography club. Although the number of students in the photography club are less, we are a group of great photographers and the college always funds our club? time and again.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are very clean and offer great space to girls. We have a common room where all the girls get together in the evenings to spend time or watch television. The bathrooms are also cleaned everyday. We have special food on Fridays. The room sharing is dependent on the choice, two sharing, three sharing or single bed. The hostel fees is different from the tuition fees.
Alumni/Alumna
Once I stepped in on the college campus, I could see girls all around and I was a little nervous at first but then a senior approached me and asked me if I needed help in anyway. That was my first day of college and this is my last year of college and everything is still the same. Everybody is very lovely and cheerful all the time.
Admission
I am an aspiring writer and my choice of course was clear, althoug I was debating over whether I should go for journalism. I chose BA (Hons) English program at Deshbandhu college because it is a highly renowned college. My admission was done through a merit list, and I was selected in the first list.
Faculty
Our professors get along with the students like we are a bunch of friends. They make it clear that we are allowed to ask them any doubts and queries. As Liberal Arts is looked down upon in India, our teachers make an effort to help us get through the barriers that the society holds for us.
