My Law School Journey

Haldia Law College is one of the pioneer institutions of this country in the field of law. It is evolving under the guidance of the eminent legal minds of the country and is in the process of creating young leaders for tomorrow.

The course curriculum is extensive with quite a few subjects per semester. The subjects change every semester and there are a total of 10 semesters in the course over a period of 5 years. Towards the 4th and the 5th year, the students get to choose their electives.

The college has a Placement Cell and provides with a great opportunities to its students. There are internships and jobs for the students in great firms and under individual practitioners. The college help students in whatever way they can.

Since it is a law college, there are a lot of legal events, more than cultural events, such as the moot court, a lot of debate competitions, mock trials and so on.The college also conducts legal aid camps for the poor who cannot afford a lawyer.

The fee for the Admission form is 300/- The admission fee is 6000/- which is to be paid one time. And the course duration is of 5 years and the course fee is 30,000 INR a year. The fee is quite feasible and can be paid on a yearly basis.

The college offers scholarship to the weaker sections of the society which is mentioned below: Minority Scholarship (National Scholarship Portal) Minimum 50% marks in the last final examination of the Board/University. SC/ST/OBC Scholarship

the college also supports extra curricular activities and has provided the students with a a library with a large number of books for their research work, a seminar hall for the students to conduct events, a moot court hall for the practical sessions and competitions and i also annually has a sports day.

The university has hostel facilities for their students. The hostels are available for both boys and girls. The hostel wing is different for both boys and girls and there is a hostel warden in each wing to take care of the students. They have provided us with cleaning staff and the hostel is very tidy and healthy.

The alumni network of the college is very strong. The alumni of the college are placed in great firms and are working in the higher courts of India with the best of the lawyers. They occasionally come to college to share their experiences.

The eligibility criteria to gain admission in the college is Class 12 with at least 45% marks, 40% for SC/ST and 42% for OBC. The institute conducts an entrance test which needs to be cleared after which your name will appear on the merit list. The application mode is offline.

The faculty of hr college is well informed and knowledgeable. They maintain a reciprocal and a bilateral relationship with the students and encourage debate sessions in the class making it interactive. They expect us to be more vocal.
