Course Curriculum Overview
In this master's curriculum, all the topics were directly or indirectly related to the student's comprehensive and all-embracing knowledge and skills. Also, the subject was quite lengthy to prepare for the exams. The exams are taken every six months as a final exam but before that, there were practice tests whose marks were included in the final result.
Placement Experience
Several job opportunities for the students during the placement week every year before some weeks of the last exam for the curriculum. The candidates who can crack the interviews and written test gets a job at some reputed institutes. Also, the university gave options to the students for internships with and without stipend.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I paid 7450 which I feel a very feasible amount to pay for the one year as to gain a master's degree. The second-year fees I paid were 6,700 thus making its a total of 14,150 for two years is very reasonable as per the facilities by the university.
Fees and Financial Aid
As the fees are quite low, I have not seen any students availing or taking the scholarship. However, there are students of other streams with higher scores availing some scholarships from university and some have applied for government scholarships.
Campus Life
At Bankura University, students spend their leisure time playing several indoor and outdoor games in the evening, sometimes the university arranges sports week, awareness workshops in several areas of the city. Also, the campus is a great place with student diversity and zero levels of discrimination among students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel fees are 6000 per year and that amount is considered as reasonable as the university provides all the necessary facilities excluding some extra facilities like WiFi. Although, some students prefer PG rooms over the university hostel.
Admission
In this stream, it was mandatory to have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university and the admission was given on merit-based evaluation. I choose this particular course to have renowned knowledge in the field of history. The admission process I chose was the offline one at the university admission department.
Faculty
All the faculties teaching as well as non-teaching academic staff were quite friendly and had down to earth nature although they were highly qualified in their respective field. They provided extensive and detailed notes on every subject they taught during the lectures.
