Course Curriculum Overview

I opted for diploma in Computer science and engineering. It is the course of 3 years. Exams are conducted every year twice which also includes the submission of internal assessment marks and assignments too. The course includes the practical assessment and also the theoretical assessment. sometimes the day become hectic because of the practical classes but usually we enjoy doing the classes.

Placement Experience

Placement Record of Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering and Technology Malda is not registered yet and the placement cell is quite busy to attract some of the top recruiters but this institution has a bright future ahead as the government is planning to make it as an autonomous body under National Institute of Technology(NIT).

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of Ghani Khan Institute of engineering and technology is quite feasible. I opted for diploma in Computer science and engineering and the free for this course is 40150 rupees excluding the admission fee and other charges. People who have opted for hostel also has an additional fee to that but this is only the course fee. For other fee detail we can refer to the College website.

Campus Life

Extra-curricular activities are a part of all engineering colleges in India. Without them life would too dull. So students have a variety of options to pick from. Students get to choose from all kinds of sports ?cricket, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, tennis, hockey, swimming etc. (NSS): It is a youth programme run by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & sports, Government of India.there are other extra curricular activities included as a part of our college.

Admission

Ghani Khan Institute of Engineering and Technology was established in the year 2010. I took admission in this college in the course of diploma in Computer science and engineering. This is a course for 3 years and admission is on merit basis and entrance exam. I qualified my JEE mains and also I qualified the GKCIET entrance test. we should also have a good percentage in 10 + 2 examinations from a recognised school.

The main reason I I went into GKIET was because of the great faculties. The faculty of GKIET really great with an immense knowledge about the subject and they also step forward to help the students in every way possible. The principal of the college is not too rude with their students. The principal is flexible enough and always takes correct decisions on correct time.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

My JEE scores were not sufficient for me to secure a seat in CSE in any college. Although i had applied to some semi government ones like IPU in delhi and had got a seat in ECE in the main campus, i opted for this one instead keeping the fee structure in mind. Also im a native bengali so i was not willing to travel to delhi for my academics. Though i regret that decision and would not recommend anyone to settle for a college nobody has heard of when you can have a better one instead. I had been selected for NIT Agartala as well in Mechanical branch but ofc i opted for a better branch.
