Remarks

In my conclusion this college was more of a boys school as no good girls exists here most of the campus is filled by boys what so ever was the course they took but still it was worth it i would say i had big group thus this college is improving due to growing demands i hope in next 10 years it gets a good ranking in Indiaits just an average college with most disgusting faculty ever just with few exceptions like IK pandita, shabir sofi, whole mechanical faculty and rest of the faculty and kashmiri are anti india and are no use to you if u dnt start licking their shoes.

Entrance Preview

I gave AIEEE it was called that back then i didnt scored much just 120 and had to deal with college as a punishment admission was little clumsy because of lack of infra in college campus i regret joining a local college as it was private but still better than this one.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

Course is same as it as in early 1980's we still study old languages way old electives also no review yet about the course and also it was way shitty because whenever they thought of introducing new subjects there was no faculty to entertain it so believe me.

Internships Opportunities

Our college there is no internship experience neither you get paid for it but to complete your course u still have to do industrial training that is non paid and most of the people do paid courses so that it improves there cv's and rest just begg big firms to take them as inters for free and if someone is lucky enough he gets it in my 4 years no one actually got it and thats the bad part about it.

Placement Experience

2

Average u can call the dullest among the all neighbor nits like jalandar kurukshetra and hamirpur average package here is 3.5 lakhs just a dozen out of 600 get above 5 lakhs thats even more frustrating in the college life as locals have higher grades but these idiots dnt need job in outside state so they just spoil seats and and big names dnt hire them due there bad repute of not joining in my college history highest package was 70 lakhs but wait dnt think u can get it the guy u got that was one in 60 years of college existence and will never happen again as he did it all by himself and that company never visited campus so its not gonna happen in near future.

College Events

3.5

Celebrated events as a long listfreshersfarewells alumni meet public holidays strikes curfewsmass bunks sports week twice a year inter nit if your lucky they will take the team else its just for cricket only yeah they do celebrate a shitty techfest named techvaganzza check out the site none of them are as big as you think most of the guys just go back home and relax during it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its feasible for those with reserved category as all tuition fee is exempted for them and thus mere Rs 15000 per sem for them and for open ones its 1.5 lakhs a year but its worth it as your getting a nit degree in return of it.

Fees and Financial Aid

None is availed but as its a govt college only those with category will get it and those with minorities also get them and about loans all good banks provide loan for this college dont worry u will have loan if u child is getting admitted to this college.

Campus Life

0.5

Extracurricular none exists of the above mentioned items happen all you have do is to done on your own a good campus life though exists u will get to meet a varied people in this college from all parts of India and you have a open mindset being developed by the interactions made with themu will surely miss ur buddies after college but not your college thats for sure and i can bet my money on it hands down.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

Very bad worst than u expected we all know how messes are but still its very bad none of the messes provide good food im not saying healthy but good food but still its ok you will only get ill once and than ur immune system will get used to it dont worry we all have endured it and sure will you and about complaining never do it because aur teachers are the messes interchange if u bother them forget about your grades.

Alumni/Alumna

Yeah alumni and seniors are only help lines they will surely help you as they know the difficulties faced by the student in this college most of the alumni try to make their companies visit the campus but he avoid this cause of the location in a heavily terrorist prone state of j&k but still whenever you try your seniors will surely help you get a job or any advice regarding your future and yes no ragging exists in here its banned.

Exam Structure

Not bad i would say only good thing college it is student friendly minor 1- 20 marksminor 2- 20 marksclass assessment - 10 marksmajor exams - 50 marks same for both labs and theory and for those who flunk few exams its 200 per subject and its a carry on system but if u fail remember teacher will make an assumption of you being failure till u fail out and keep failing you than on wards if u are even if u start doing well remember you are on their mercy.

Faculty

0.5

Besides few permanent one's all else are contractual so faculty doesnt bother to teach u with whole heart they just do it for the sake of just doing it it is a total partial college your dull kashmiri counterparts will score way much higher than you and u cant do any thing about you and thats bit frustrating part.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is quiet relevant it covers all the important subjects and topics.I chose the Ece branch as the demand of semiconductors is rising in the future. The curriculum perpares us well for real world applications. The course teaches us a lot of outdated concepts but it misses out to teach about what is happening in the world right now. So the course can involve a lot of topics that are in trend.

Placement Experience:

Placemets start right from your 7th semester. Most comapnies that would come here would be like vedanta , ashok leyland etc etc who mainly do mass hiring, th no of offers are quite low as for durig my time most companies qul do diversity and hiring would only select girls and the girls were low in numbers as compared to the boys so each girl recieved atleast 2-3 offers while rarely a boy would even rev=cieve a single offer. The highest package was offered by Vedanta but it was 13 lpa in ct in hand it would be arond 5-6 lpa , the average package was also the same around 5-6 lakhs per annum. Percentage of students placed would be around 30 percent but they inflated the numbers heavily but showing only the students who were eleigible as boys were mostle ineligible. My plans are to look for masters somewhere abroad.
