Course Curriculum Overview

The medium of education is both English or Bengali (whichever the student prefers). The course revolves around world history and Indian history with detailed changes in the society that keeps happening.

Placement Experience

UGC approved, "Career and Counselling Cell" is of extreme help for the students. Frequently, exams are held to check the general awareness and skills of each student that is mandatory for the related future jobs.

College Events

The college is known for its active participation in competitions like Music, District Level Youth Parliament, Drama, Debate, inter-college dance, etc. The events are organized in a huge sphere where students from other colleges are invited too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is almost negligible with a tiny amount of INR 5k to be paid as fees annually. The college has designed a feasible fee structure to open opportunities for unemployed women and to empower them.

Campus Life

NSS, Parade, study tour of old monuments, and museums, guest visit at exclusive exhibitions are practiced in the campus to give realistic experience to the students. Seminars and workshops are like everyday activity.

Admission

The cut-off is high as it's an established government college. Merit list based admission is laid out for the course, my 12th board marks were really great which got me a spot in the list and later a seat allotted too.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
