Remarks
Raiganj Surendranath Mahavidyalaya is a college in Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal. It is affiliated to the University of Gour Banga, Malda. It offers two undergraduate courses B.A. and B.Sc., with different fields of specialization.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum of both courses and their respective fields of specialization is set in accordance with the University of Gour Banga, and it simpler than many other colleges of the same level. Semester-end examinations are conducted 2 times a year.
Placement Experience
Placement opportunities for arts students are specially bleak in most colleges. Our college does not conduct campus placements, so that is kind of a disadvantage. More so for science students. Internship opportunities are not provided. I did not need internship for the course I had selected.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees-wise, this college is very affordable. The three-year fees for B.A. and B.Sc. is around ?5,000. Confession is also applicable to reserved seats. The feasibility may be because there are only 2 courses, thus lesser number of teachers as compared to other colleges offering more courses.
Campus Life
There are small, not high-level, student unions and clubs, which are voluntary. Most students participate in annual sports where they get the opportunity to show off their skills. Festivals are zealously celebrated.
Admission
I've always had an inclination towards English. Plus, Honours adds weightage to a Bachelor's degree. Science and maths are not my case. Hence, I went up online to register/apply for this course and when the merit list came out, I got it.
Faculty
The faculty are very professional and hold the qualifications needed for their subjects. They have a very friendly attitude towards stdents and are always ready to lend a helping hand. They used tests, easy tricks, and audio-visual aids to teach us.
