My experience in Raiganj Surendranath Mahavidyalaya

Our college is private and follows the University of Gour Banga CBCS syllabus form. It was very nice and relaxed. The teachers are also nice and help you with whatever you need. We had six semesters with six credits each. We also had examinations at the end of each.

The placements were good but there is scope for improvement. Our department usually sets up various activities set up for us like occasional talks with authors and mentoring facilities for the students to help them think about their future choices.

Our department has a Language Lab and a film club you can join. They also have an amazing collection of books. The students union always comes with programmes you can attend and they are also open to any suggestions you have.

The fee structure is feasible with a total of 4,995 rupees and yearly 1,665 rupees for the BA English course excluding other fees. Some courses can go upto 16,000 totally. There are some scholaships you can avail.

The language lab was really good. The library is open from 11am to 5pm and have a wide collection of books. There are different clubs you can join in the college. The students union also tries to bring new plans.

There are hostels near the college. My hostel experience till now is overall good. The wardens are helpful and dedicated, they are available if you need help. There are markets near the college and delivery, but i had to learn how to cook.

As a college near my place, I saw the college as an obvious choice. I got eighty-seven percent in my 12th standard, so I took a form from the reception and applied to the college. I got the confirmation of my acceptance later on.

The faculty and teachers are all very helpful and supportive of the students. They help us with a lot of difficulties and continue the support throughout the year. I am yet to have a bad experience with my teachers.
