Remarks

The university is very recently established. Even then, they are committed towards making the years spent by the student in the college worthy of the investment. It is located in a great location in West Bengal. Overall I have enjoyed my time at the University till now.

Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum is designed in a very effective manner. The course structure is very dynamic and meets the demand of 21st century student. The focus is to transform lives through classrooms as mentioned in the organisations mission statement.

Placement Experience

The university is established in 2017,thus it is very new. Though, any hardworking student gets ample opportunities to grow and develop in their career. The university guides us on career development and also assists students in getting the right kind of internships to learn.

College Events

Annual cultural and annual sports day are celebrated in the college. Various occasions like international women's day, yoga day are celebrated. Foreign exchanges are also a regular feature in our college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The program fee is Rs 1,51,000 and other miscellaneous charges are taken at every odd semester. The total fees for 3 years amounts to Rs 1,75,000 which is a bit expensive for this course but the facilities are worth it.

Campus Life

The gender ratio varies from department to department but overall it is pretty even. There are sports facilities for cricket, karate etc. Painting and singing clubs are also there. The college focuses on building individuals who are well rounded.

Admission

I got admission after applying through the college's online portal. The criteria for admission was 50% aggregate marks in 10+2. Then a merit list was created for selecting the students. I always had the intention of doing my honors in English so this was an easy choice.

The faculties are highly qualified. They have years of experience having taught in world class universities across the globe. They have research experience as well. The guest faculty are also very knowledgeable.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Companies coming to campus like TCS,Wipro,Deloitte,Biocon,Pfizer. 4. Deperments with strong placement cells secure 10-15 offers per company, depending on batch size. 5. 8-10LPA Highest package offered by Leading companies and 4-5LPA Average package offered by companies. 6. 60-80% of students getting placements. i am interested in Ph.D. programs for research positions.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Insights of SNU

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder. My classes were about to start from 17 August, but they called me during July( because she didn't know that biotechnology does not fall under para- medical and made a mistake and for her mistake I had to suffer as I'm not a resident of Kolkata)...Read More
