Course Curriculum Overview
The 3-year course may seem tedious but it is not by any means! I have been studying several branches of economics for the last 2 years and I have never once felt bored in the lectures. A number of analytical exercises and case studies are included to interest the students.
Placement Experience
Our college arranges a number of workshops for us so that experts in the field can come and instruct us about what future we may be looking at with the subjects we have chosen. We also have companies from a number of sectors coming in to recruit us.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee is affordable for most of the female students who study here, even though most are from lower-middle-class families. The annual fee is Rs 1237 and the total fee is around Rs 3700, devoid of hostel fee.
Campus Life
Overall development of all students is a big part of our principal's vision. That is why we are encouraged to participate in sporting and cultural activities. Since it is a women's college, we also have lectures and campaigns for women empowerment.
Hostel Facilities
I have opted for hostel facilities and I am quite satisfied with the services I have received. We have wifi connection in the hostel and both the hostel and mess charges are affordable. We also have a common room and indoor games facilities.
Admission
The admission procedure takes up to 3 months to complete! You have to apply in May after the board results are up- you can apply only if you have secured 45% and above in your 10+2. The merit list comes out and counselling happens in June. The classes start in July.
Faculty
The faculty in our college is qualified with most having doctorates by their name. Our professor Dr Uma Basak, has always tried to make the case studies interesting for us, helping us understand what our future jobs may entail.
